I guess that's the way they coached him with detroit. If he would have been drafted as a dolphin by Nick Saban then he would have been a better player all along. Watching him out there make fast decisions is something that I praise the guy for and to go out there humbly feeling better makes me feel better also. I thought of him as a whiny player but when I grasp his hand out near the practice facility with a very wonderful smile then I knew he was a very good kid.

Hopefully he takes out far out there and learn his mistakes so the coaching staff have faith in him. Being in detroit with bad coaches has probably caused most of his game mechanics. He can have jumpy feet at times but he is doing better and hopefully he can make it to the playoffs.

Getting drilled every down made him shaky. I love him though... Hes comfertable, and happy!

He's got a lot of heart, look what Welker and Zach have done with all that heart! JT too! We need more players like this on our team!

I think he played a very good game with the help of the offensive line. He needs to work on getting the big plays out there and so do the receivers. The thing that we are lacking is having a relationship between Our receivers and Joey. Chambers admitted to practice with him right when he was called a starter which makes you think, "Doesn't it take a while for a receiver and qb to build a relationship?

I definitely think spending time with Detroit really screwed him up mentally just like the Steve Young had been with the Bucs. Both were labeled as busts and eventually ended up with a franchise that has a storied history. Of course, Joey hasn't exactly produced at Steve Young's level (yet?) Also, being a Tedford coached QB, he didn't exactly come into the NFL with all the skills needed.

Joey's a good guy and a good QB. He's good at making quick decisions, which is the only thing that kept him alive as a Lion and is something that you can't really train in a QB (see Culpepper). With proper coaching to fix his mechanics and his tendency to act a little too quickly (both very fixable), he could finally reach his first round potential.

i beleive that joey can deffinantly get us to the playoffs lets just hope that he keeps putting in those solid performances and getting us over the line for the wins

No. You can thank Jeff Tedford for the mechanics, because nearly every QB he ever coached had below average careers because they couldn't play NFL Football: Trent Dilfer, Akili Smith, A.J. Feeley, Joey Harrington, David Carr, Kyle Boller and Aaron Rodgers, although Rodgers will be probably be very successful, and Carr is back on track. Notice 5 of these had shaky mechanics comming out?

I really want Joey to be successful, but have you really convinced yourself that every fault he has can be traced back to poor coaching in Detriot? Joey gets happy feet so his deep pass in inaccurate, resulting in a overthrown sure-touchdown. Oh, this must be because he was taught to do this in Detriot.

IMO, Detriot could have changed these things early in his career, but they didn't. Now, if Harrington had been drafted by a team like the Packers, Eagles, or Rams...

Reality check: say all you want but he just cant complete medium and long passes

I have to agree with that. He HAS to improve his medium to long range accuracy; other than that, he would be a perfect fit for a team that runs the west coast offense. Than again, I like the way we tailor our scheme to fit his strengths too.

Ogunleye made a post-game comment which made some sense; it may be a little sour grapes attached to the comment, but there is some truth to it. He said in so many words, "the Fins had a game plan where they ran plays that would allow them to get rid of the ball quickly so we could not generate a consistent pass rush. That alone won't win ball games, but when you mix in turnovers, it's tough to overcome." I agree with this comment to some degree, because you do have to stretch the field to keep the safeties honest. If Harrington could improve his med. - long range accuracy, this offense would be very fun to watch, and hard to stop. Our point production would probably be at least 10 points more per game.

But I do applaud Harrington because he is not trying to play outside of his game, and it is helping our team win games.

Accuracy is the direct output of solid mechanics. As Joey re-learns his mechanics his accuracy will improve. Not saying he'll have Aikman like accuracy but he'll improve as much as he can.

Oh yeah, as he learns he can trust his O-line, his feet and his mechanics will have a chance to improve.

It is just now getting to the point where you can really start to judge joey. I kinda give him a pass up till now. Given the fact that he wasn't "the guy" from day one. DC was getting all the reps all through camp, and untill the switch was made. Granted, he has made some bad, bad throws, but look at all the drops. Yea, he throws some stupid picks, but look at the tipped picks i.e. mcmike vs the pack, and so on. We need to take this season one game at a time now, just take care of business on the field, protect the ball....no room for error at this point. Hopefully Joey continues to improve on his no-pick game last week.

harrington is terrible. he has always been inaccurate...we need culpepper to get healthy

I think what makes him look shaky is he's an average QB.

Hindsight is always 20/20 but I wonder where the Dolphins would be if Huard was kept over Fiedler?
