I thought chop blocks were illegal. Remember last year George Foster chopped block someone and was fined and suspended I think. I wasnt able to see the game so was it a cheap shot, or was it part of the game?

time will tell... the league will likely review the play in the coming days...

Cheap doesn't even describe it. The words I want to use to describe it can't be displayed on here.

Well let's pray for J.T. right now cuz we're playing the stupid Broncos next week. Any chop block and I say Dolphin fans should beat the crap out of Shanny...

What do you think will happen to the culpret, Austin King?

Chop blocks are illegal, but cut back blocks are not! It depends on who's interpretation as to which it is. There appears to be a very fine line between the two.

I don't even think Foster got a penalty on the player you're talking about. It was dirty but legal.

Chop blocks are legal if done correctly, and I dont understand why people think they are "cheap". It's a method of playing the game. It increases the chances of injury, but that's acceptable IMO, as it doesnt cause an excessive amount of injuries. It cases more then regular blocking, but not a ridiculous amount.

There are alot of different styles of play that can cause potential injury to other players. How is this any different from a safety going for a big hit when they could wrap up and tackle? You're risking(or hoping to) injure a player to make a big play. If you slip up, or get too aggressive and do it the wrong way, you'll get penalized. If you do it the right way, you may still injure someone.

Vickerson being injured sucks, but I dont really see a reason why chop-blocks are so cheap.

It is if it was from behind. If he didnt know it was coming its cheap.

I disagree completely. Any intent to injure is against the rules. When I play football I don't try to injure people, it is just a result of a contact sport. A chop/cut block is intending to injure, at times it is acceptable as a method of blockign a much larger man. But from behind? Away from the play? Obviously an intent to injure...
