Not to rain on a parade but fumble reocoveries mean you were in the right place at the right time. You may have been getting your *** handed to you 5-10 yds off the line of scrimmage when the ball bounces right to you. Forced fumbles are much more impressive to me. I still like those guys and agree we have some talent coming up, especially with Crowder, but I think that is a basically meaningless stat category.

Some players just have a knack for being at the right place at the right time. It's a good thing if we have players with that knack on our team.

well it shows that a) our rookies are in the right place at the right time and b) the other players on the team are forcing fumbles

why? a forced fumble can be a fluke to, like yesterday I believe vanden bosch on the cardinals got a forced fumble for hitting gus when he barley had the ball, so forced fumbles can still not be a stat that shows correctly

and as kastofsna said it means someone is forcing the fumbles

lastly it doesnt really matter how many fumbles you force if you dont ever recover them
