Guys i am as frustrated with this year as anyone. But i am actually grateful...We were in it till the end at least and here is why:

NO TEAM AND I MEAN NO TEAM CAN RECOVER FROM LOSING YOUR STARTING QB (HENNE IS GREAT BUT A KID AND MAKES MISTAKES LIKE ANY FIRST YEAR STARTER), STARTING RB (RICKY IS GREAT BUT HE IS A NO. 2 ), STARTING CB (FORCED TO START 2 ROOKIES) , STARTING NT (ACTUALLY ONLY NT) AND WE WERE STILL IN IT. OUR TEAM FOUGHT, WAS TOUGH, AND THAT IS SOMETHING I HAVEN'T SEEN IN A PHINS TEAM IN MANY A SUNDAY. SO KUDOS FOR OUR COACHING STAFF BCZ THAT IS ALL ON THEM...( AS WELL AS A COUPLE OF BONEHEAD PLAYS)

We are a dangerous team my friends, With a young prospect of a cannon..( maybe a franchise qb, hopefully...maybe not but at least it is the most excited ive been with a qb since danny boy retired), a really good young OLINE, our defense is getting younger, we had a s*** load of sacks this year, cam wake will be a beast....we have to let go of a couple ppl ( GINN especially) and of course draft or trade or buy a no.1 WR..bcz our Wr. Core isnt as bad as advertised its just we have a no. 2 WR in camarillo Two no.3 slot guys ( bess and hartline) and a No.4 WR in Ginn ( a burner who will make a play every 10 games) of COurse we need a No. 1. As soon as we get him they will improve.

So cheer up my fellow phinfans i for one am Proud to be a Dolphin Fan. We had to many important injuries and were in the hunt. And i see a bright light in the future. WE WILL GO TO THE SUPERBOWL AT LEAST IN THE NEXT DECADE. ;) we have a good core, Happy new year and enjoy the last game! its the last time you'll watch the phins for 8 months.

Tom Brady and the New England Patriots say hiiiii.

The '72 Phins say "still perfect, without Griese for the bulk of it!"

I just had to log in and say that this is the BEST post I have read in a long time!

Good to know that there are at leat some common sensed people on here.

But.............I am still not over the past 2 losses. Am very sad.

No division win or playoff birth and a meaningless 11-5 record say "hiiiii" back.

To the OP: This is a great post and I too am proud to be a Fin Fan and look forward to seeing a decisive 2011 division/conference title!

I do agree with you that this team had major obstacles to overcome this season, were I am disappointed is, this team didnt finish. I put the blame on Sparano because he is the coach. It will be interesting to see what he will do in the offseason to help in the coaching area. I find it inexcusable for a team fighting for a playoff spot to come out in back to back games and not have a game plan good enough to keep from falling behind by more than 3 TD's early in both games. I could live with a loss but not this way. The D was not ready to play or didnt have the right gameplan in the two most important games of the yr. Both teams that beat us were not any better than we were, thats what makes this hard.......I am not calling for Sparano head or think he should be fired, I think he is a very good HC, and I believe he can point to what happened, hes just not going to tell us.......Lets see what they do in the offseason.......

I don't think they lost their starting RB (like the op mentioned), nor did they have nearly as many guys on IR as we do. Tom Brady and the New England Patriots say byyyye.

Preeeeeeetty sure that Drew Bledsoe was the starter in 2001 when he went down with an injury. Then, Tom Brady stepped in and took that team to the Super Bowl against "The Greatest Show on Turf" and the Patriots WON that game. "No team can lose their starting QB and recover" doesn't hold much water after that.

We just need to face the fact that we aren't a great football team yet and that we lack some talent at skill positions. But we're certainly headed in the right direction.

I was thinking the same thing and am glad you posted it. Im not one to make excuses at all....but it would be tough for any team to recover from injuries to starters at key positions. And losing Ronnie really hurt. It could have been argued that he was the MVP of our team the way he was key in running the offense.

However I am still upset about the last 2 losses and how we got down so big early. Seemed to be missing a little bit of fire in the first half of both games.

Maybe not. But it's pretty remarkable what they did. We certainly can't do it. Henne is essentially a rookie and he has no one to throw the football to and we're still asking him to throw it 30+ times a game. It's not like we're headed in the WRONG direction.

Um, ever hear of Phil Simms and Jeff Hostetler? If not, check out the 1990 NY GIANTS.

It's funny how everyone keeps highlighting what he said about the QB, but failed to see how the guy kept writing commas and adding all the other guys we had go down.

there isnt anything wrong with being positive ,yet its the way the season ended with llosses to the Bills , and Tenn that piss me off . Losing to Houston id rather perplexing to me . if we are getting bad calls then why isnt our team standing up to the crocked nfl and there mafia henchmen known as reffs ?

here is what I am deeply concerned about.

#1 we played tough in the first part of the season and came up short against the best teams.

#2 we barely beat Tampa , and we lost to Houston, Tenn, and the colts meaning we are 1-3 against the afc south.

#3 the front did the exact same thing that some of you were down on wanny about. which is the personel move were not as noteworthy as other teams we are competing against.

translation .

other teams are getting really good at the pace we are still crawling and our reccord indicates we are not as good as our reccords show on paper.

totally agreed, if they were to get say Brandon Marshall, i would love to have Camarillo, Bess, Hartline and Ginn and that would be an impressive group of wr's

If you told me at the start of the year that we would have lost our starting QB and starting running back for most of the season and would still have a chance to finish .500 (with the schedule we have had), I think I would have taken it. I don't know about the rest of you, but I think we have played pretty well.....I thought the only game where we really got our butt's kicked was the opener in Atlanta. We did have a few games where we fell apart in the 4th quarter, but we could have/should have beaten the Colts and Saints. You have to look at the good along with the bad.
