The guy is very underrated, he scored 7 sacks in 2004 as a starter, on JTs least productive season, and scored 5 more this last season as a back up, IMO he fits better in our scheme and is a much better player overall than Hodge or Spragan. I f we dont land Brooks or Berryman or Dixon, I want him starting at SSOLB.

What makes you think he can play standing up? He's a defensive end. He probably couldn't drop into pass coverage for his life. This sounds like a horrible horrible idea.

Not saying that it is a good idea.......but I'm pretty sure that he was a LB in college.

He in fact was drafted as a 250 pound LB, hasnt gained much wheight since he is 260 right now, and he is definately quick enough.

If Nick Saban thinks he can play linebacker, he'll put him there.

He played linebacker in college and at least his first year in the NFL in Denver.

That probably wouldn't be a bad idea, seeing as he also plays special teams and is the only DE I know who does so (lest you count our long snapper), so he definitely has the speed.

I don't "want" any particular player starting. I want the best 11 on both sides of the ball to start. I am very confident that will happen.

i just think we have better starters now and he adds so much depth off the bench and when you have a guy like him coming into the game fresh legs thats where you can make a diffrence.

So you rather have Hodge starting? Or Spragan? Or Pope?

I wouldn't mind Pope starting inside, the guy has done nothing but make plays when called upon.

Inside in the 3-4 or Weakside in the 4-3. Either way, I'm all for Pope to be a starter. But not on the strongside.
