I think most would agree, draft day, we understood that interior O'line was a major need. Pouncey was best interior O'line man by disctance & Ireland stated that there was no demand to trade down.

I have never thought of this since....till we converted Carey to RG.

I was happy that we had 2 bookend tackles, we could let Incognito & Pouncey play where best suited C/G and have competition at RG between, Jerry, Garner, Murtha, Berger or even FA.

With Carey moving to RG, surely then FO must have considered an OT.

With this in mind, take a look at Eagles draft. Danny Watkins a 27 yr old Gaurd again overdrafted & Jaiquawn Jarrett an overdrafted corner projected to play FS.

I ask anyone, if you are Eagles GM, would you not prefer Pouncey a 22yr old G/C, and clearly best interior lineman in draft or Watkins & Jaiquawn Jarrett? There were rumours Eagles were interested in Pouncey before draft, due to J.Jackson injury and the need for Gaurd.

I know this is hypothetical & hindsight, but Eagles have history of being aggressive in draft and I cannot fathom why if they were looking for interior O'line man, this call would not be made.

Again I know this is hypothetical, but it has irked me, since we have moved Carey to RG. If call was made would you have preferred Gabe Carime & 54th pick to Pouncey? I liked Carimi anyway and I am biased.

Maybe I am the only one who has considered this, but I am venting after watching our O'line struggle once more under an O'line coach.

Who are you upset with Miami or the Eagles? We do not know if any calls where made but from Ireland said there was no interest from other teams to trade up, so I guess that would include the Eagles.

Ireland said there was no interest from other teams to trade up
That's the word on the street which left him in a situation where he had to go with the best guy available on the board.

Until I can honestly say Henning was the problem las year and not Henne, I will still believe we should have gone with O-Line with our first 2 picks. Why? Because Thomas, or any other RB for that matter, might be completely useless and ineffective behind this line this coming season. Now, if Henne has about 1.5 to 2 second to put a wounded turkey up in the air for grabs, will we still be looking for a QB? Or will our O-Line "guru" attempt (if he is still here, which would be unlikely) to assemble a decent group of linemen? I painfully await the aswer to my question...

You shouldn't be blasting the draft because they drafted a center - you should be blasting Ireland and the draft because they didn't solve their main needs like they should have. It's easy to pick afterwards but 2 guys would have clearly been the right choices and solved their 1-2 punch for years and that would have been Ingram and Mallet. Gabbert and Mallet were the top 2 QB's in my opinion - no question. This to me was such a no brainer and they picked a freakin center in the FIRST rd. Are you kidding me? 1st rd for a center!!!!!!! Go get the best one in FA!! They could have groomed Mallet and Ingram for the next 5 years. This FO was way too worried about playing it safe!! Now this team is screwed because anyone who really thinks Henne is going to pan out really has to take the homer glasses off because he is terrible!!
