Ok, friends. I, like all of you was very upset after we blew a 24-3 lead on Sunday. We came out like gang busters and were plain out mauling the Saints, but there was one thing that we all, including myself forgot. The Saints ARE the real deal. We did learn a few more things about our team, and saw some things that were of new concern. Please feel free to critique this thread. Ok, this is how I see it.
1. Ricky Williams is an animal
2. Ted Ginn is a bum!!!! We need to let him keep starting to gain worth for us to trade is sorry a$$!
3. Anthony Fasano is a bum. He is night and day from last year. We need a good TE.
3. Gibril Wilson is a total bum. Enough said
4. We have 2 great up and coming corners in Vonte Davis and Sean Smith. Vonte did Great on special teams, and in coverage. Sure tackler. Sean did a great job on Colston and Bush out of the backfield.
5. There is communication problems between Henne and his receivers. I think Camarillo needs to be moved to #1 for the season, and Hartline to #2. Just my opnion though.
6. Our pass rush was there. We got great pressure on Brees, just not enough
7. We seemed to have run out of gas in the second half. Everybody was hanging there heads and had there hands on there hips. It seemed like they knew that they were going to lose even when we still had the lead.
8. O-line seemed like they went back a half step this week. While blocking was not horrible, it still wasn't where it was in the previous 2 weeks.
Ok, these are a few things I noticed from the game. Again, while this was another heartbreaking loss, I definately do not believe our season is over. Our toughest game to come is in week 17 against the Steelers at home. The rest of our schedule goes in our favor. As we all saw yesterday, we still aren't there. We are still missing a few pieces to the puzzle. But we will get there.

While I can agree with your post, all that stuff is for nothing if you don't win the game. It is like arguing with someone about how great dan marino is until they bring up the fact that superbowls generally define the greatness of a qb in this league. Then your left to start making excuses. Not baging on your post but just saying.

Miami up 24-3, you MUST win that game. Period. End of discussion. I am not going to try to make myself feel better by throwing stuff out there that shows future promise. We have been doing that for years. You MUST win that game. I for one, am pissed.

I agree with you as well. We just need to put everything together, and keep it there. 1-2 more drafts and I think we will be there.

What if New Orleans was the better team? I think all rhetoric aside, we played a great 1st half and were beaten by the better team in the second. Does this happen next year when we have a QB that has 19 starts instead of 3, or 2 corners that are not rookies, or a better idea who's going to be our WR and safety.... not likely. Yes, this one hurts, just like Indy but just 2 years ago we were the laughing stock. Like I said earlier, nobody wants to get beat up by this big, physical bunch of (mostly) football players.

You might feel that way, but GMs and coaches learn a lot from games like this one. I learned a lot about this team during this game. I do not see the value in your position on this game.

What is not to learn in this game that wasn't "learned" during the colts game?? It is the same song and dance except we were actually stomping the hell out of them?

Know what I "learned"? We still do NOT know how to win a game. I thought we learned that last year but I am thinking everyone isn't on the same page. I don't think we have that veteran that is going to address the team about having a sense of urgency and whether you just want to be a forgotten player in the nfl or leave your legacy as a household name.

The truth is, Miami's 2nd half adjustments were flat out horrible, on offense and on defense.

Miami led for the first 57 minutes of that game. It was foolish to have Henne pass the ball 36 times in such a game. It was just stupid to give up on the running game in the 2nd half allowing Brees and the Saints offense to get right back on the field way too quickly time and time again.

And it was stupid to play that vanilla style defense in the 2nd half (like they played through the entire Colts game)... Miami was giving them all kinds of different looks up front in the first half, the Saints were confused and looked inept on offense.

The broadcasters for the game couldn't stop talking about our great game plan defensively in the 1st half.. They loved it, we loved it, everyone loved it.. We were mixing up the defensive looks pre snap early and often, with plenty of mix ups in personnel packages throughout the 1st half... Confusing Brees and their offensive line..

Then they got away from that in the 2nd half.. QB's like Manning and Brees will pick apart easy to read defenses every single time.

We did everything you could ask for with the defensive game planning in the first half.. You see how QB's like Brees and manning can look mediocre when a defense gives a lot of different looks to confuse them getting them off their timing and rhythm.. Then Miami got away from it in the 2nd half.

Dumb dumb dumb game planning both on defense and offense in the 2nd half. We gave that game away.

Two games against NE, and going to the Jets is in our favor... that is a tad optimistic.

When they said we'd take a step back in year 2, bad play like yesterday isn't what they meant. This team is now in last place because of a lot of awful decisions.

Sparano has to be livid with the play calling in the second half. The goal was accomplished in the first half with the different reads they gave Brees, getting pressure on him and forcing him in to bad decisions. To come out in the second half and have the playcalling go sour on both sides of the ball is mind boggling. Throwing the ball 6 straight plays resulting in two 3 and outs is not how you keep Brees off the field.

Henning is very inconsistent in his play calling. One game he is brilliant, the next you wonder if he was mentored by Kippy Brown.

Couldn't agree more with everything you posted here man... I will NEVER understand why **** like this happens. How the hell can you just get away from something so successful and go back to what doesn't work? I love Sparano and I know he took the blame on his shoulders which I'm glad to see him do- but he deserves any heat he gets because he could've overruled the play-calling on both sides of the ball at any time.
