I was too harsh on Ryan Tannehill

I was a little to hard on Tannehill last night. I was likely the most drunk I have ever been in my 3 1/2 decades of existence and got a little carried away. Reading my posts from last night today I can see why I was catching flak. I was/am a bit disappointed in the offense and targeted Tanney more than needed. His play was fair considering the shape of the o-line and Gibson not being there. I'm glad he did not turn the ball over and he made a couple of big time throws. So just wanted to throw that out there to all who participated.....I do however still believe that the offense as a whole was pretty disappointing though. Am I being to hard on them? I mean I saw them go 3 for 14 on third down. I saw them only score 13 points ( our defense scored 9 ). I'm not happy about only scoring 13 points in 4.5 quarters of play especially since the Defense gave us 4 turnovers to work with. The running game was doing well, Tanney didn't turn the ball over, the o-line was better than recent weeks for sure. So why only 13 points? I mean we did have a fumble and missed field goal but that is pretty typical NFL stuff right there. Our defense of course stayed on the field longer than needed due to us giving up big 3rd and longs for first downs ( damn I hate that )....but in my opinion those things don't add up to us only getting 13 points. Is our offense just to banged up to put up a good amount of points? It seems to me that if Tanney doesn't turn the ball over and the o-line and running game are playing well then there is no reason we couldn't have put up more points considering what our D gave us. Would like to here every ones thoughts. Anyways....sorry T-hill. You're still my boy!!

9th youngest team in the NFL, in good salary cap for the next three years!!

You are still not looking at the game as a whole when assessing the offense. They scored 0 points and had 3 total yards in the third quarter. Sounds like a pathetic performance, right? God they suck, right? When you consider that Tannehill completed a third down pass for 9 yards that was taken away by a BS PI penalty, the players on offense did their jobs. IMO, they had to punt through no fault of their own.

So, in the third quarter, what should Tannehill have done differently? How was his play mediocre?

The defense has to take some responsibility and get the ball back for the offense.

This goes out to all finfans who overreact at the time even way before the game is over.

Stop that! Its not like we all said we were going superbowl.

Cam Wake said it best last night. The margin for error is razor thin.

Its not all Tannehill's fault but the offense is still ****ing pathetic and they only scored 10 points last night. Third and ten or longer feels exactly like 2008 when we had Pennington who couldn't throw it further than 8 yards, so we were always forced to try something conservative and almost always punt. Hopefully they can get some **** figured out during this mini-bye.

I have no problem with what the offense did last night but a couple of things.

Can we run a different 3rd & short play (playaction, rollout, ect) that would fake the crap out of the defense to get that much needed first down to give our defense a rest who was out there the entire 3rd qtr?

RT, can you please turn around and hit Miller in the flat! He's wide open!

there were looong stretches last night where the offense was completely ineffective and awful. thats not gonna fly against the cheats. it didnt last week when they spotted us a 2 td lead. this offense has to get MUCH better for us to have any chance to win the division.

The third and shorts are really disturbing and its obvious we aren't confident in those situations which is on the coaching staff 100%. Look no further than the Baltimore game where we had a 3rd and short on our third play of the opening drive and we were running around like a bunch of chickens with their heads cut off and had to burn a timeout. And of course we didn't make it even after the timeout. We've got to be right up there as one of the worst in the league at getting a yard or less.

Really? If this team wasn't confident in those situations, they'd call QB sneaks, bootlegs, or trick plays.

Instead, they appear to be confident that they can run Daniel Thomas on a ****ing stretch and pick it up, which is absurd. I am really, really starting to wonder about Mike Sherman.

Have to disagree, New England almost always runs the QB sneak and I believe Brady can call it from the line and does it from a hurry-up quite often, AND they almost always make it. That is an example of supreme confidence.

Our guys are running around screaming "OMG its 3rd and short, what do I do? What do I do?"

Don't apologize.... We are going nowhere with this bum.

FIVE turnovers and NINE points were scored by the D and we still barely squeaked by in OT.

This is a double digit loss otherwise.

Translation: I hate Ryan Tannehill cuz he ran over my dog.

Should of had an extra 10pts with the fumble and missed fg, on top of that we didn't have the ball the whole 3rd quarter. Offense will be fine if they can continue to block they way they did against the Bengal's then everything will open up esp the play action like you saw on Wallaces 2 long grabs.

I'm was just apologizing for pinning it mostly on Tannehill....but yeah I agree. The offense didn't play well and had the D not stepped up with a lot of turnovers we likely would have been blown out.
