First of all, there was a lot of Dolphin fans in the Georgia Dome. I sat behind the goal post and haven't heard any commentary nor do I have any official stats. I am giving you my impressions.

Offense

1. Jake Long got bull rushed twice and gave up two sacks.
2. Offensive play calling was truly offensive. The trick plays shouldn't be a staple of our offense. If they are, then there is something seriously wrong. We should have lined Ricky and Ronnie in the offset I formation and ran it down their throats.
3. I love Bess; he has the best hands that I have ever seen. Nothing gets by him.
4. Camarillo has to be one of the smartest players on the team.
5. Our offense doesn't fool too many people since I was calling the play as they lined up.
6. The Wild Pat experience should be shelved for now. I get the feeling that Pat White is a little overwhelmed and judging by the preseason he didn't do anything to even earn a spot on the active roster.
7. When we were down by 19 our offense showed little urgency.
8. Fasano and his two fumbles needs to be made and example of. For the record I am a big Fasano fan but two fumbles in one game is unacceptable.
9. 3 turnovers = loss.
10. Pennington's arm strength looked ok, but he looks slow in making a decision.

Defense:

1. Run defense looked good all game.
2. Pass defense was above average.
3. Merling had a great game- stood out on more than one play.
4. I have no idea what happen to Smith, but Davis played well.
5. Allen played extremely well with a few nice pass defenses.
6. Pass rush wasn't that good.
7. No turnovers created.
8. Defense made some good stands while being put in a bad position.

Special Teams
1. Poor kick returns only to the 15.
2. Poor kick coverage letting them get to the 30.
3. Most of their kicks were 5 yards deep in the endzone while ours were near the 5 yard line.

Overall Impression:
Pretty poor way to start the season. Our offense looked like it was the first game of the preseason. The trickery needs to go until we can run basic offense. When we commit 3 turnovers and don't force any ourselves then we will not win. Pat White looks overwhelmed and he doesn't belong on the field. I don't want to call him a waste of a second round pick but I just don't see him being very effective.

Defense will keep us in a lot of games, but the offense and special teams need to really pick it up.

Yeah i was there too...and i agree

i am an optimist but we looked like crap today the fumbles killed scoring drives which could have made it a better game.

the D looked good considering it was starting at its own 20 all day

I am a Penny fan but with his MO being short passes team stack the box and force him outside which he can only do if he rolls out. Henne might get a look if the offense stays this stagnant.

we need to make a few adjustments cause there were a few times Ginn had beaten coverage or was open and we didnt get him the ball

and trick plays should not constitute for all our big play.

on a 1-10 i give us a 3 only because the D only gave up 19 and started backed up most of the day and we didnt get shut out

Maybe we should have used the 2nd round pick we used to get Pat white and traded it for Tony Gonzalez.

or even drafted a p;ayer that we could actually use

seriously, i hate this pick sooooo much right now and i disliked it when it was made KNOWING how much more talent was available. these gimmick plays blinded the F.O.

MIA's holes are being exposed game 1. MIA will not get by this season with
'smoke and mirrors'.
MIA on offense showed no growth/progression from the last time they took the field in a 'real' game. Penny picked up where he left off, and unfortunately the league is picking up where Balt left off on us.

I did get a good laugh seeing White trying to run w/ the ball. He got swallowed up by LB's that are just as fast as him.

Too blame pat white or saying he is not ready to play the game is ridiculous. What is ridiculous is expecting him to make our O move when not even pennington can do anything. I like what he brings and give him a chance before judging him in game 1 when we are down by 16 and can't move the ball with our starting QB. I do agree with the fact that Pennington had a terrible time making decisions today, led to sacks, a pick, a fumble, and numerous throw aways. Much of this is the O-lines fault but much should and rightfully so be blamed on Penny. But I know Penny is a competitor and very smart, this will not happen again, all year.

lol @ criticizing Pat White after he was on the field 5 times all day. Everyone loves the deep ball so much, he gave u a deep ball....

^Really^^ peooople get a grip. It's one loss outside the confrence. Geeze like the world just ended.

Yeah...real deep. Whats the point of a deep ball if you overthrow by 10 Yrds. Horrible throw!

Hmmm, his last 2 games, real games, have something in common. He and the offense have made no progression since the last 'real' game. But you saying this will not happen again...all year. Well the BALT game was in Jan I believe. 8 months later here we are again.

QB's need time to get the ball downfield. For a deep pass how many seconds do you think that is 4 seconds? 5? Was Chad getting it... heck our running game was anemic. The Falcons just gave the rest the league the recipe to kick our butts for the rest of the season.

Criticizing the pick. MIA has 2 2nd rounders being parttime/no time players. I believe this team has holes, and those holes are being exposed, game 1.

Sorry but Balt showed it in January. ATL just incorporated it today.

I know it sucks to lose but some of you guys are going to make urselfs crazy..
Picking on a guy that got 5 snaps..
saying out trick plays should be scrapped when some of our biggest plays came from them.
Our D played good except 3rd downs.
Great vs the run.
If Fasano didnt fumble those the convo would be going totally different.
If Pennington was having a great day than yea bag on Henning and White but thats not how it happened.
