I will lose my ****

I hope Daniel Thomas will be on the 53-man roster because I still believe he's a good running back. Never understood the hate for him.

Nor why people are anxious to kick him to the curb in favour of a guy averaging less than two yards a carry in preseason who was booted from his college team...oh yeah, it's because Williams is an UDFA and DT was a second round pick.

I was one of the people seriously impressed with the pickup of Williams. I do think he beats out Thomas or Gillislee at this point, but I haven't been that impressed with him so far in preseason. It's hard to evaluate him as our run blocking was so poor, but it wasn't an eye-opening performance so far.

Daniel Thomas shouldn't make the roster this year, but who knows with this coaching staff. They are the ones who did a near 50/50 split for most of the year last year with him and Miller.

Can't put too much weight on the preseason numbers - given the size of the sample. Watching Williams, he made a very nice run early (might have been his first) to get around the corner. Showed good patience and burst, and I like his pad level. The O-line struggled to give him any room to operate. Too many times, the backside blocking broke down - resulting in TFL. If this is still happening (to this degree) week 1, everyone can start to panic.

At any rate, he runs with much better leverage than Daniel Thomas, and his feet look a little better; Thomas has good feet for his size. Factor in the injuries, and I believe DT has an uphill battle.

He is just impressing in camp because everyone else sucks so bad...we don't have a legit RB on the team right now at all...

Daniel Thomas. Pat White. Jonathan Martin. Patrick Turner. Philip Merling. Chad Henne. Michael Egnew. Trade 2 twos for Brandon Marshall and then trade him away for 2 threes who suck.

You honestly have to try to be this inept with your second and third round draft picks. These picks should have netted some cornerstone players.

Once Thomas and Egnew are gone, the stench can be removed and we can hope we have a generation of new 2nd and 3rd round picks that can be a good nucleus for success. Landry and Turner are hopefully the start of that.

Williams the RB is real stud in the making, I have been saying this since we got him...

Love the optimism....but I think that might be a bit of a stretch. If he was a stud it would be glaring but it's not. It seems Gilislee is still ahead of him on the depth chart. Too much depth at the position for guys on the bubble to make the team. He would have had to stand out in a major way to unseat the guys ahead of him.
