I will say it now TRADE DOWN..

That's the worst thing we could do this year considering the sudden dropoff in talent after the top 5. I would advocate we do this in the 2nd round or if we finish in the top 10-15, but right now, barring a sudden resurgence, we're picking top 5 hence, grab Quinn, Brohm or CJ.

Draft CJ.... if Quinn or Johnson or Wilson off the board.... maybe we could trade down..... but someone of course has to want to move up....

otherwise lets take a top 5 player...

I don't think the talent dropoff is as severe as some are making it out to be. I think there's good talent to be had through the entirety of the first day. The second day, IMO, is where the real dropoff begins.

Saban will give Culpepper another year to prove himself so we will have a rookie Qb on the bench and that it will take 1 or 2 years for him to show if they even have what it takes.

Just let Culpepper rest for the rest of the season until he feels peachy. Then bring him back in a game he can actually play well in and get some rythm for next year.

Next season truly start the rebuilding. I think Zach will retire or ask to be traded, as will Jason Taylor. The only talent the team has on defense is up front anyway so atleast they're solid there. Will Allen is worth keeping since he is relatively inexpensive, so is Daniels, and Goodman. Keep Bell and Jason Allen out of the safeties.

On offense Chambers is still a keeper as the #2 WR. McMicheal's salary is too much to get rid of and Brown is obvious. There are some decent players on the team but no true playmaker. That player can be Calvin Johnson. Go for QB only if the team can swing a trade.

Well, right now we're looking at the first or second pick in the draft. Clearly, it's too early to tell anything, but intial leanings are that Brady Quinn and Adrian Peterson might be competing for the first pick in the draft. We obviously don't need to draft Peterson, and I think Quinn would be a waste for us. So we should definitely check to see if there are any teams out their desperate enough for a top QB or RB prospect and willing to give us a nice package.

I'm always wary of drafting offensive line prospects early in the first round. They are almost more of a crap shoot then quarterbacks. I think we would be better served upgrading the line through free agency (if we have the money).
