A coach is only as good as the players he coaches. Why was George Seiffert considered a Hall of Fame coach with the San Francisco 49ers, and then thought of as a bum after he went 1-15 and fired by the Carolina Panthers????? Without talent and a franchise QB, we are going to continue to be a mediocre team.

People will love Mike McCoy. Not the next Don Shula, but he will evolve into a very successful coach that will bring success back to the Dolphins in time.

I sure hope so. I really don't know enough about him to critique like many here.

What is a FAN?? I friggin hate the owner and his sidekick Jill.. I grew to despise Coach Tony and never much cared for QB de jour... Henne is the absolute worse idiot since Cleo Lemon.. I've threatened and tried to walk away from this team several times.. I swore I'd cancel my Sunday Ticket and only watch the game on TV if there is nothing better on.. I promised myself that I would not log on to Finheaven.com until I got my emotions in check..

And yet, here I am rooting and hoping and praying for a good outcome.. I guess I'm a fan that just cant say NO..

Even tho my heart outweighs my brain when it comes to loyalty, I was still observant enough to see that Saban, Moustacheman, Tuna Fish and Sparano was not going to turn my team around.. I knew that the long list of QB's was going to be a bust, however I would have likes to see what Brian Griese could have done if given a real chance..

But best of all.. I am pleased to announce my ignorance towards guys like McCoy and Philbin.. I simply dont have enough info on them to form an opinion.. I do like the cast of characters Philbin can bring to the team and yet McCoy looks the part of a successful NFL head coach.. So I am looking forward to the draft and this next year.. but based on the last 10 years, I dont have too much hope.... well.. at least my brain doesnt..

Fisher was the safer pick but I see more upside with McCoy.

Let's just see how it works out. We welcomed azzhats like Johnson and Saban with open arms. Right now we just don't know and McCoy has a clean slate. I feel better going into this year not knowing what the Dolphins have in a head coach than last year knowing they were going in with a loser.

Why can't fans go in with the Half Full versus the Half Empty Glass. Everyone wanted Sparano gone, he's gone. No more fist pumps (dare a coach show any emotions when his team does something good). Henne is no longer going to be the starting QB (hopefully). Why not give Matt Moore a chance to prove himself instead of having him defeated before the season even starts. Fans were supportive of Henne even as they watched the records go down each year. Moore comes in and plays the last few games of the season helps the team win some games,brings some hope back to the team and he receives minimal to no support. You have to believe in yourself to be successful, all I can say is that I hope Matt Moore has a lot of faith in himself for he sure does not get it from his fans.

Its been said many times before, but it really does apply here.. Matt Moore is a very good back-up QB.. There is no doubt he can win games, but he hasnt shown the ability to win the games he shoulda lost.. and thats what Miami needs... They need a QB that comes up big in the face of adversity and is able to pull out that last second come from behind win..

I really was kinda all in for Fisher cause I thought he could get the best assistants..Greg Williams would have been great for us..and against Brady 2 times a year..But it did not work out that way...I am not sure who Mccoy is going to get for his assistants but I hope they are decent. Most coaches and most players will tell you that coaches can only do so much and that the players are the more important part of the equation of winning. All tho Mccoy is not going to have final say on players I hope he works well with Jeff and they can kinda come to an agreement about what direction the Dolphins are headed. This worries me of course, it always seemed to me that Bill, Jeff and Tony were never on the same page about what the Dolphins wanted to be. Redzone offense got fixed too late, the D could never get a stop late in a game against even mediocore qb's...I hope things can be different.
