Sparano did some things that annoyed me like rushing people off the field after a field goal every time :confused:

and he was a "chewer" ...every time it pans to him after we just did some dumb **** and he's sitting there chewing away. I think Sparano overall was a fine coach but lets face it, he was neutered after the harbaugh ****...and he was part of parcells so I was ready for him to go, but parts of me wished that Ross would have just come out and said right away we are keeping him.

Ross is in a very tough spot because dolphin fans in general are spoiled...and at this point undeservedly so...it's been so long since we were actually relevant and switching regimes every 3-4 years just perpetuates the cycle

So now we can get Fisher. I hope and pray we as fans can endure the ups and downs...I like the guy, I like his personality and we all know he is leagues better as far as 'in game' management than our last 3 coaches...maybe 4 coaches? (sparano, cameron, nick lolredflag saban, wannesdadt)

I'd be good with Fisher

and for those that say "we can't win with run first mentality" take a look at 49'ers, ravens, etc...

I get caught up in the FIRE EVERYBODY stuff just like everyone else but several teams just stick with there coaches regardless of what the fans clamor for...I almost wish if we get fisher, ross says "here he is, he will have 5 years to achieve _____. We will be sticking with him during the ups and downs until he can assemble the team he envisions"

just felt like babbling

What the hell are we, Dolfans, spoiled with? I haven't seen my team in a Super Bowl in my entire life. They went when I was 3 and I didn't know what football was then. What then, Stoyanovich breaking my heart with his FG miss against San Diego in the Divisional Playoffs? The Bills butt****ing the Phins in the 90s?

We aren't spoiled, we're in desperate need of success.

I don't understand the point of sticking with a bad coach just for the sake of sticking with a coach. Sparano was a bad head coach.

Why should we continue something that's not working at all?! You do that when you're succeeding, you continue! If you're in the cellar of your division you need to make a freaking change! We've been underachieving for years, we need to find a coach to get the most out of this roster.

this last season doesn't count imo

he was neutered...everyone knew it...I've never seen anything so awkward in my life than that stupid round table thing Ireland, Ross and Tony did...

regardless, he's gone

and when I say we are spoiled, I don't mean we necessarily deserve to be...I just mean the fans stop going to games and force the owners hand to do something that maybe wasn't in the best interest of the big picture...im not just referencing ross/sparano...but even in past years/coaches with wayne.

I don't buy that excuse any more than the many others. How was he neutered? If he somehow managed to learn how to be a head coach and made the playoffs, he would have been kept. He failed. Firing him was absolutely in the best interest of the team because he was a bad head coach.

7-9, 7-9, lost the last 3 games to end both seasons, he should have never seen this year. The guy was a field goal celebrating stiff.

The only good thing about bringing Sparano back this season, is that he has now infected the Jets with his conservative, no balls garbage.

You make some valid points we have assitant coaches and players that were once part of the Dolphins going very fine else where. I actually have said that last year Marshall was undermining Tony S and was a bad pick up for that reason. BUT that is on Ireland and Tony S too if they did not think they could handle Marshalls ego they should have never picked him up. You do that on the Pats your on another team the next year. Regardless Tony S was better IMO than most we have had around here in some time but he could also be improved on which is better be what we are doing. I am tired of the big names coming and going and the lame results we have been getting. Ross Ireland and Paterson better have it right because this is just not another NFL franchise where the fans show up if you good, average or bad you better be good or be ready for a half empty stadium and it has always been that way. Yea we need consistency but we need a winner. Shula got rode out of town after one 50/50 season and no playoffs!
