I was just listening to WQAM, they said a writer up north heard Cleveland offered Braland Edwards to the Phins for Camarillo a 3rd and a 5th. I say its probably bogus because we would have jumped all over that trade. Anyone heard of this or think it is true????

no way, camarillo? who would seek a trade to get him? I mean, he's a decent player, but for a team to actively request him in a trade of that magnitude, especially coming off a significant injury?

Could be true....if it is I for 1 am glad we didn't do it. Henne looked Camarillos way a lot last week, I wouldnt want to give up Hennes fav target and 2 pickes for a bigger Ginn....

thank god we didn't... that would have been horrible for us wasting our draft picks

im glad our FO does things the right way building talent, not mortgaging that potential talent on gambles like Edwards... stick to the Steelers philosophy, there is a reason they are one of the best teams in the league every damn year

The upside might have been worth it (if true) The thing that would have bothered me is that he is in a contract year and the options after playing only 12 regular season games would be to lose him to FA (unless no new coll bargaining agreement is made), franchise tag him and pay way too much, or sign to a long term contract that is probably too much $ as well. I do not like any of those options although his upside can be amazing.

Camarillo catches everything thrown to him.. Edwards does not

1) Who is this we you refer to?

2) AM Sports talk radio is almost as reliable as stuff found on the 'net. :chuckle:

keep this in mind people, a 3rd and a 5th could be Kendall Langford and Donald Thomas...

would anyone in their right mind trade a bust like Braylon Edwards for Kendall Langford and Donald Thomas????

I doubt we would even trade Camarillo for Edwards straight up.. I would be pissed if we did.

I think with all the heat building up over Mangini's sweetheart deals, this is just someone in NY or Cleveland's way of spinning it to dilute this spreading impression. Me personally, I'm wondering exactly what Mangini's severance package was from NYJ and how much of it involved under-the-table payments for future preferential deals. To me that's a more likely scenario.

LOL some guy said that one a braylon thread yesterday, I think he was just throwing the idea out there. Funny that you said the exact same thing he said we should offer.

Who would you rather have better Camarillo or Stuckey?
