I might be alone in this.

But I would seriously give up the vast majoirty of our 2010 draft picks in a trade up to get Eric Berry.

I truly believe he is THAT SPECIAL. Yea, we need a young nose tackle, and yes we need a stud pass rusher.

BUT... Last year this team was KILLED over the top. I mean killed. We watched Gerbil Wilson give up some of the most demoralizing plays you could possibly give up.

Eric Berry roamin' center field, with YBell doing his thing up close the box.....Man, I'm just salivating at the prospect of that duo.

We have 10 draft picks. I'd give up our 3rd, our 4th. And 2 or 3 of our gazillion 6th round picks to get it done.

I hope Parcells calls up his son and law Scott Pioli, and strikes up a deal for that number 5 pick. Do whatever it takes.

Who's with me???

Maybe Pioli wouldn't mind Phillip Merling since Tyson Jackson sucked at 3-4 DE for them as a 3rd overall pick.

I would do something like number 12, Merling, 3rd next year, 5th this year.

KC has hinted that they want to trade down. We should take advantage imo.

If the Jets can move up for Darrelle Revis, we can move up for Berry.

If the Steelers can move up for Troy Polamalu, we can move up for Berry.

Berry will have the same effect on a defense as Polamalu and Revis have on those defenses. Mark that down.

now that we do not need Dez, trading up for berry is my #1 wish of things the front office wont do but i wish they would

i wouldn't pull a mike ditka...and i love berry

too much talent in this draft imo to go that route...not to mention ditka gave up his entire draft and his 1st and 2nd round picks the following year for williams...

that's crazy

man has any player ever cost a total of 4 1st rounders like ricky has?

Look at the incredible impact Polamalu and Revis have on those defenses as secondary players on those teams.. You don't want the Dolphins to have that as well ? Then do it ! Both Polamalu and Revis were snagged by teams trading up for them,

If the Dolphins do it, they will have accomplished the following this off season:

1. They acquired the best defensive player in the off season with Karlos Dansby (come on, Peppers is getting old and has lost a step and a half)

2. They acquired the best offensive player available this offseason - Brandon Marshall

3. The Dolphins drafted the best player in the draft (imo) with Eric Berry, who changes the entire complexion of the defense over the next decade.

Three moves that will shake the AFC East and the league at it's foundation.. Can you say "Trifecta" ? Or if you prefer, "Triumvirate" ?..... or how about my personal favorite - "The Holy Trinity" of offseasons.

take your pick.

Maybe not next years 1st lol.

But next years 3rd? I'd do it. Berry is that good people. He's Ed Reed, Troy Polamalu good. Not to mention he's versatile enough to play ever posisiton in the secondary.

And you would end up not coaching ala Dikta. He's an amazing player but in order to be succesful you must be able draft well in the mid rounds as well as early on. One Player is not worth that many picks.

Just pray that somehow the gods shine down and have him drop down to us :)

It would take much more than a 3rd, 4th and some late rounders assuming that we want to move up to the 6th or 7th pick. We don't have a second this year or next so I'm not sure how we would get that high.

GREYBOY GETS IT!!!! :bowdown::bowdown:

How is Andrew Gardner coming along as our project right tackle ? If KC needs a tackle, why not Vernon Carey and our 12th to move up to #5 ??

Come on, we have to be creative here. If KC traded for Ndukwe and Andy Alleman last year, they certainly know about Vernon Carey.

Carey only gave up 3 and a half sacks in 2007 at LT.. Maybe we can find a decent RT in June cuts, or make another move to find a stable RT.

I know that Nate Garner has the size and height to play RT.. he was really good coming in at both guard spots last year. Garner is good in pass protection (that's why he substituted for Thomas) and has the feet to play right tackle. Nate Garner is 6'7 and 325 pounds.

I like Carey, but he can be replaced.. He won't make close to the impact on our team as Eric Berry would over the next 12 years.

... just kidding but I think your proposal is too much. Berry would be nice however Miami has too many holes to fill to give away that many picks this year. I could see it if the safety position was all that Miami needed to address to complete their roster for a title run.

I wouldn't play around with our o-line that much. Especially our book-end tackle situation. That's a posistion you always want to have a posistion of strength.

Plus, I'm good friends with Vernon Carey. Don't want to see my boy traded, lol.

But they can have Smiley all dizzaaay.
