I am happy to finally have a good quarterback for the dolphins however I think that we should have gotten steven mcnair instead. we would have only had to have given up a 4th round pick to get him. That is a very good price considering the calibur of player he is. We had to give up a 2nd round pick for a quarterback who I am not sure is that much better than mcnair. It would have helped our team alot if we were able to have that pick this year. This has been the only real move that I dont agree with Saban with. Culpepper is a great quarterback but Mcnair is on the same level as he is. I know I may be in the minority for saying this. It just seems the dolphins did not get good value with this trade.

McNair is a dinsaur, and about one year away from retirement. No thanks....

Mcnair is 34(i believe) and i think baltimore actually overpayed for him. He is alot close to the end of his career than culp is. At this point in his career I dont look at him as any more than a veteran stop gap.

Are you sure you don't want to change your login name to "finsgoneNUTS"? Sorry dude, but you're way out in left field on this one. I'll leave it to the more talented and more educated (football-wise anyway) other members of this forum to give you all the reasons your idea is crazy, as I'm sure they will very soon. McNair is ALWAYS injured, rather OLD, and can't throw the ball nearly as far or accurate as DC. I'm in this for the LONG run, and McNair would be a one year stop-gap measure at best. Heck I'd rather have just Joey Harrington than McNair!

In Saban We Trust!

I would Take STEVE YOUNG..STEVE DEBerg AND Steve Bono BEFORE Steve Mcnair, And, If you were at The camp today <As i was> and Say the Way # 8 moved around AND threw<Granted, No Pads, No contact> You'd feel the same way

:tsk: You can't be serious. Let me remid you that Daunte is a Pro bowler, has recorded possibly the second best season in NFL History, is the most productive QB (in terms of total yrds) in NFL history, and averages just over 2 touchdowns a game! A proven QB of his calliber is worth so much more than a second round pick. That might be, and might prove to be, the biggest steal in history. Prepare to be flamed! :fire:

Steve Mcnair = :fogey:

that is why you are unemployed and sitting at home with your mom. I dont see why some of you guys see trading a 4th round pick for a quarterback who the MVP of the league a few years ago.

So the quality of the QB doesnt matter? Thats basically what you are saying.

Daunte > Steve, therefore the trade value for Daunte > the trade value for Steve.

Simple enough.
