sorry, i'm probably gonna get flamed for this... but i'm starting to notice something...

Ronnie Brown is so damned strong, and so physical and so eager to produce, he often fights and twists for extra yardage when a defender has him by the ankle or legs, etc. ... with this, he often leaves himself open to brutal shots and strips when one or two defenders have him held up... this worries me at times... he's such a good kid, and loves football, i really do not want to see him get hurt... (plus, he barely wears any pads, which i hate)...

i know escapability and hunger are key ingredients for a "factor back"... but in certain spots, i think another good trait to have is to know when enough is enough on a given play... just get down... protect the ball, protect his body, and hit the deck or get out of bounds... not always, but on certain situations... you know the plays i'm talking about... Where there's that split second where you gasp that RB is about to take a serious shot, or get bent back the wrong way, while a defender has him wrapped up...

Hang in there, Ronnie... run hard, but run smart...

I agree to an extent.. But you dont want to inhibit his running style. That is what makes him productive.. But in crucial incidents, when he has already picked up the first down, and is being held, I feel he should just go down instead of potentially getting hit and fumble.

Ronnie is a special player, he gets yards where even Ricky won't. I too am a bit concerned with his fumbling.

I just think he needs experience, and he will figure out when to fight and when to drop.

You mean where Ricky DID... Ricky is a hell of a back. ronnie just has more to prove. i believe Ricky will be valuable to ronnie with his knowledge and unselfishness for the game.

I don't see anything wrong with his style of running. I think it is superior to Ricky's at this point.

Ronnie really hasn't taken any "jacked up" league hits...nothing like the one Ricky took a couple weeks ago! I notice that on the pain side of the equation that Ronnie is the one delivering the blows moreso than the defenders.

I guess you guys forgot that Ricky was a power back in college hahaha

That guy was around the same weight as Ronnie

Bingo! I think they feed off each other and check each other out. I think ronnie learned quick about the cut back when the line goes one way from Ricky and Ricky is feeding off of Ronnie's all aorund abilities.

I dont think there is anything wrong with his style of running, its his style of carrying the ball with one hand as he is going down into a pile of diving tacklers who are ussually hitting him from behind.

i agree with this....and to go one step further i think ronnie is good for ricky because of ronnies love of the game. if you see ronnie out there 90% of the time he's smiling....his love of playing in the NFL is so obvious, maybe that can spread back to ricky....

seriously tho after every run all i see is ronnies chompers he's just smiling....even after he gets hit hard he pops up smiling ...it makes me laugh sometimes.

He is a rookie.....and an etremely talent one. I like his style just give him time. The fumbles will come down. Didnt Ricky lead the league in fumble a couple of times. His production will far outweigh it in the not so distant future.

Its just a mental thing more then a style IMO. As said above, he doesnt protect the ball with two hands soon enough..all in due time though.

Remeber Rickys first TD run against Atlanta where he covered the ball up before getting into the goaline. Ronnie will learn to do this as instinct as well i believe.
