The Raiders are not expected to re-sign free agent C Samson Satele.

Pro Football Focus rated Satele as a top-five run-blocking center in 2011, but the cap-strapped Raiders may view him as a luxury they can't afford. 2011 second-rounder Stefen Wisniewski can be moved back to center if needed.

Per Rotoworld.

From what I remember he was versatile enough to play guard. Cut Carey and let Jerry compete with Murtha for the starting RT job, that way we can draft playmakers instead of more fat **** linemen.
 
I actually kinda liked Satele. I remember him pulling quite well and blowing defenders up downfield. I like this plan. Save the draft picks for other needs. Say no to RT at #8 please.
 
I liked him, and wanted him at Guard when we traded him. I wouldn't mind him back instead of Incognito.
 
I guess watching Wilfork have his way with him wasn't enough for some of you. I don't care what PFF has him rated as. The eye test is all I need, and that dog don't hunt in the AFC East.
 
You mean Samson "Alligator Arms" Satele. The guy with the real stubby arms who was manhandled by guys like Wilfork. Yeah lets bring him back so we can suck like crap at the center position again. :bobdole:
 
We don't need him. Garner can back up Pouncey. We need to upgrade the oline, not revisit our mistakes. New blood is needed.
 
Hmm... people need to read OP post, looking at bringing him back at Guard.

Slide Jerry out and have Incog, Carey and Satele battle for the guard slots.

LT - Long
LG - Incog or Satele
C - Pouncey
RG - Carey or Satele
RT - Jerry

Not to mention, you can never have enough depth at O line. Also, correct me if I am wrong but Carey is on a contract year and is due some big money.
 
Maybe he'd pan out better as a guard, who knows, but we have our franchise center and even if not, I'd still have to pass if it was for that position.
