why don't we try donald thomas at center? transition between guard and center is not that difficult besides getting used to the ball in your hand..... learning how to snap could be learned in the early camps and thomas is supposed to be a real strong dude which we lacked from satele. thoughts?

i think that players get drafted at certain positions because they play THAT position. not every position is interchangable. he is a good guard, keep him there.

nope... nope.... nope......

he's supposed to be a great, hard working prospect at guard, that the coaches like a lot... don't mess with that!!!

we'd have to trade up to even get a chance on him probably.... so i would just wipe him off your board.... and then there is Max Unger who might not even make it to our pick... nothing really after those guys except G- Duke Robinson who could be a good grab.

Why don't we try one of the highest rated Center prospects to come out of the draft in years....A.Mack!

we have barely even seen the guy play yet lets not put all our eggs in one basket

I think he meant we've barely seen Donald Thomas play.
He did get rave reviews from the Jets D-line after game 1, but seriously, he's played 1 game. AND he suffered a major foot injury (Lis Franc) which has ended careers of players in the past.

Here's hoping for the best for the guy! But we cant go into April's draft assuming Thomas will definitely be a starter. Gotta cover our bases.

the best move would be carey to rg and draft a true rt

Let me get this straight, you want to take a kid that was a walk-on at UConn. and new to football, then gets drafted low because he's very inexperienced and raw because he's very new to football, he has a few decent pre-season games and starts the briefest of times; and now you want to not only give him a starting spot without any competition, but also make him learn a new position AND be the person responsible for all the line calls ... while handling the ball on every play?

I just wanna get that straight, because that's a very tall order my friend. Count me in the camp that says you're asking way too much of the inexperienced 2nd year player who spent almost the entire season on IR. :(

And who knows, maybe Thomas' Lis Franc injury will flare up again. It has happened that way with other athletes and effects them all the time. He may never be the player he could've been because of the injury.

i put up a thread on this in the draft room, if you want to check it out and discuss

but linemen that are interesting to me now and more impressive are:

C- Antoine Caldwell and G- Kraig Urbik
