Idea: Trade Wallace to the Browns

I wish people would stop with the trading of our good players. Mike Wallace isn't as great as the contract he got, but we need him to stretch the field. I just don't understand why every time we get a decent to good player, (wake, Wallace, Jordon, Hartline,) so on and so forth that people always want to trade them away. You will never be a good football team if you keep trading away your all star and leader type players.

This 100%. And the trades are usually for what in those posts...draft picks. So lose a good player to maybe draft a good player but criticize the way the fins draft. Lunacy.

The problem with this is that the remaining cap space is less than Wallace's cap hit. What we should do is look at drafting Martavis Bryant and then do a straight trade for Blackmon next year.

Wallace No! But I admit that when hearing about Gordon yesterday, my first thought was that maybe Hickey can pillage Farmer sending Hartline home, considering how desperate the Browns must be. And that was before drafting the LSU kid. It's more than likely that if we cut either Matthews or Binn, they'd end up playing along Lake Erie this season.

As a side note, Hickey is getting flack for "reaching" to fill a dire need with the RT he thought was the "best of the rest." Consider that Farmer, who's known about Gordon for 2 weeks and could have had Evans or Watkins instead traded down for a very good corner, (but still one that was #3 or #4 on some mocks in a CB strong draft,) .. or at the least used the new pick as ammo to trade up for one of the many fine 2nd tier receivers, might well have been making those (and the Manziel) decisions for us. Can anyone say "whew!!!"

I'm not one to write on here about dumb trade ideas but the Browns just drafted their future QB and he doesn't have much to throw to. Burleson just broke his arm (again, plus 12-year vet), Josh Gordon is likely out for the year.. The team has TE Jordan Cameron and Greg Little and NOBODY even remotely close to being on a football team.

If you understood the cap implications of what you're proposing, you'd know it would be near impossible to pull it off. And that's aside from the fact that it would be stupid to get rid of our deep threat when we have no other deep threat on the team.

The problem was Sherman. Mike Wallace will be much better this year in Lazor's O and now with Landry, we got a high powered offense right now.

It's going to be tough to move Wallace because of his big $$$ contract but yes, I would take a 2nd rounder in 2015 for him. We have Hartline, Gibson, Matthews, and just added Landry. There are still WR's and Tight Ends out there. I hope we can draft a solid TE today, then focus on defense. But hopefully Wallace will earn his money this year. I doubt we move him.

I have an idea.. How about we wait and see what Wallace can do in that new offense and we can start using him like Desean Jackson.

I do not like the idea.
I want to see Wallace running free and RT with a clean pocket hitting him in stride deep.
He is an important piece to the offense, and he opens up the underneath for the other receivers and Clay.

Dangle Hartline or Mathews and see if the Browns have any interest.
With Gordon most likely gone for the season (maybe longer) they might budge.
But Both players are worth more than day three talent.
So any trade should be for next year, not this year.

Like the Hartline idea, but would he pass the physical given the injury?

Mike Wallace and Dion Jordan are not going anywhere. The sooner we come to grips with that, the sooner we can move forward.

Idea: Keep Mike Wallace on this football team.

I would love to see what he can do if he's used more to his strengths, if his quarterback has better protection and can therefore throw the ball his way more often, and if his quarterback can do a better job of putting the ball where he likes to catch it.

Mike Wallace has some elite traits. He might not be an elite player, but he can help put a lot of points on the board if we give him the opportunity. Why not give him the opportunity instead of shipping him off to ****ing Cleveland? Do you hate the guy that much?
