Remember the 21-0 Miami stomping of the Pats. When things werent going right Tom was yelling at his players, but not in an inspirational way, more of a in your face complaining way. He was also crying on the sideline at the end of the game and wanted to be taken out. A true leader (even Jay Fiedler and Feeley) stuck it out when we were down.

It seems like that game showed Toms true character: A great QB in a great system for him that has disguised his inability to be a true leader.

that was a sweet sight for these eyes... I'll bet that when Brady has nightmares, the boogieman looks like Jason Taylor...

Tom allways keeps his cool, i think that just shows u how much he hates the fins and that shows you we allways play the Pats offense tuff

Brady loses his cool in one game against a divisional rival and this is his true character?

I know as a Dolphins fan it's easy to hate a divisional rival but c'mon. This is really reaching a bit.

PS: Please tell me you didn't compare Feeley and Fiedler to Brady?

Brady won't survive two games against the Dolphins this year. It's open season on Tom Brady and Taylor, Roth, Holiday and Porter are going to give Tom a whole new perspective on life next fall.

Excellent thread.

That game was quite an indictment of Brady's career.

Dan Marino never yelled at his guys.

Beating the Pats making Brady look like he is gonna cry has personally save two seasons for me from being complete disasters.
2004 w/ Jim Bates and last year when we skunked em.

That said. I would take Brady in a heartbeat. He might have looked down those games but how about when they came back to beat us in December to knock us from the playoffs a couple years ago, or that time when he threw that deep pass in overtime to beat us. I cant remember the year, but Mare missed a FG right that would have won it I think. He usually doesn't crack under the pressure.

The dolfins are really the only team to consitently get him out of his element. I think JT is really in his head. Now he is gonna have Joey Porter in his ears!

I was at that game (GREAT TIME!), and all Tom showed me is that he hates to loose! Ask his teammates and they go on and on about his leadership. If they didn't like him, it would be a big deal, but they all say they would run through walls for the guy and that includes his defense.

1) I remember saying the same thing about Saban last year. Everyone here said what a great motivator he was by trying to light a spark under his team.(example: Ripping a Rookie up one side and down the other as he returned to the sideline while in the same game he couldn't find the ability to open his mouth when the ref didn't see his limp wristed toss of a challenge flag.

2) Did Zach show his true character in MOST of his interviews last year when he was almost in tears and trashing the fins.

To be honest I can't really bash Zach for being more than a little upset because the Fins stunk it up pretty badly last year and he's not getting any younger or any closer to a championship ring.

Do I detect a note of sarcasm Muck ?? haha while true about Marino there was a subtle difference Between Toms rant and most of Dans...Tom had the look of a three year old who had his candy taken away from him very "pouty"... Dan was always just in someones face and it was usually warranted...Do I think its a big problem for Tom ? No he wont be in that type of situation very often since the Pats are always so good but If he was on a significantly less talented team you might see a LOT more chinks in his leadership armor.

the LB of dolphins are not going to do anything to tom.last year they let reche cadwell and troy brown on single coverage and brought the safeties up and doubled watson the only threat ,so they could not run or pass vertual shut down.Their are was no where to throw the ball as the WR even in single coverage were bad and watson was double covered and beat up .

This year they will have randy and stallworth on the outside with watson/slot receiver in the center if the dolphins play the same coverage they are trouble as i am sure one of them wil be open in man to man or watson in the center.

Last year was weird no WR till late in the season he was messed way up along wiht both dillion and maroney down leading to running game.I do accept that he looked pissed off .I am not sure if this is the first game you watched but tom even in 2001 has always been very vocal even when winning to not loss focus on the side lines.

Says the Fin fan.

I saw the exact opposite way. Must be a homer thing (on both our parts.) In the day, we all used to laugh at Marino when he lost it and yelled at his guys, especially the O linemen.

I think that position (QB) has to manage so many things at once that when guys have mental lapses, a QB can lose his cool. And man, did our guys have mental lapses that day. :D

I guess it's a trait on good QB's.

haha no one can help having the "homer slant" one thing is for sure the rants from both are competative "outburst" I saw Fire in Marinos eyes and tears in Toms haha must be the Aqua glasses :D.
