I really think that Chris would be better off, not just statistically. I know Marino's accuracy would have made it so Chambers would have some staggering numbers by now (hopefully) but I think #13 would have helped more with his mental development; the firey competitive nature of Dan would not have allowed Chris to be plagued with the dropsies....I truly believe that the QB, if strong enough mentally, can make the rest of his team rise to HIS level. Sometimes I wish I could go back in time and give Chris a few more years with Dan. But, on the flip-side, I think that it's not too late for Chambers and I think Trent Green will not just avoid him if he starts dropping his passes. Trent is pretty accurate, and if he starts putting the ball on 84's hands and 84 is dropping them, he will hear about it. Does anyone else feel differently???? (just bored waiting for training camp to start...) :D

sorry, meant to type wish he had SOME time with Dan...again, just was typing away bored...sorry for my inaccuracies...you are all so quick to crucify people on here...like you just wait for a mistake or a mistype so you can pounce on it....try relaxing...it works...just a post for fun, but again, EXTREMELY sorry for the inaccuracy of my post...meant SOME TIME w/ Dan...wow, tough crowd

We have shark infested forums here!

I don't think Marino would have helped Chambers, I could see his bullets hitting Chambers on the chest and bouncing off and Dan ripping him a new you know what.

yeah, if Dan would tear into Duper and Clayton for the occasional missed route, can you imagine what he would do to Mr. Inconsistant?

Thanks for the warnings...I won't swim in the deep end then :D I think you're right that Danny would have ripped him a new A, but I think at the same time Dan would have forced him to do well, or do bad...somewhere else...

Marino would have helped Chambers because he had the ability to lead the receiver with some accuracy unlike any of our other qB'S WE HAVE HAD. Frerotte had a decent arm but zero accuracy. Plus if Marino ripped him I'm sure he could respect that unlike being ripped by a scrub QB. We ran Marino out of town for friggin Jay Fielder.

I think Jimmy Johnson ran Danny out of town...but I know i'll be bitten by the sharks if I'm wrong :tantrum: but at least Danny isn't going out like Brett Farve...i have a ton of respect for Brett, but isn't it a rule if you're collecting AARP and using Grecian formula, you shouldn't be behind center...oh well, not going off on a tangent about that...

Wanny was the coach that decided to cut Dan, after he had just taken a pay cut for the team. I think he deserved a chance to compete especially since we had no replacement in place.

not crucifying you, just pointing out that your information was incorrect.
You said it twice, once in the thread title "more time" and again in the body of your post "a few more years", so it was reasonable to assume that you thought Marino had played with Chambers.

But Jimmy bought in Wanny...tried recreating the Dallas magic...crashed and burned on that one...:tantrum:
