Wow, thats strange.. I just heard this on ESPN.. Wouldnt players WANT a salary cap?

cutting off one's nose to spite one's face comes to mind.

biting the hand that feeds you...

But I thought the Salary Cap allowed them to seek better deals elsewhere as Free Agents.. With no cap, couldnt they just be stuck on the team that drafts them?

No, because they would be making insane amounts of money.

well, in our case, we have an owner that will spend copious amounts of money so we'd be in GREAT shape w/o a stupid salary cap. regardless, i think football players should be payed more than baseball player. that's coming from someone who played baseball for 15 years.

:sidelol: :sidelol: Do MLB players want a cap?? :sidelol:

No players want a cap, then they can get huge guarnteed contracts!

They don't care where they are stuck! As long as they are being paid, these players will care less

But how do they get out of contracts if their owners wont pay them big money?

Im saying once drafted... Say a team drafts a guy in the 6th round who turns out to be a stud.. What stops that owner from paying him peanuts for the rest of his career?

Losing the salary cap would ruin professional football. I've always thought the strict cap policies are what separates football from the less-competitive sports like baseball.

Just because there is no cap, doesn't mean there is no free agency. If another team is willing to pay that stud more than the team that drafted him, the player could sign with the new team.

Are they gonna sign a lifetime contract????????? Play out your first contract whether it be 2 or 3 years. Then, you are a Free Agent!

Cool....The only thread that's not about Ricky. I know that Wayne has got serious $$$ and can compete with the richest of the clubs, but I prefer the salary cap! It keeps alot of teams competetive. But no cap, then teams that are in sorry, disgusting shape CAP-WISE (JETS)are gonna be able to spend big bucks and they'll be incredibly improved.<That I dont like.
