If Cam calls the plays, then what is the OC's job?

I mean, obviously the OC would analyze the offense and such, but what else did Mularky do last year besides call the plays? Not much it seems like.

OC's job will be to learn from Cam to eventually take over, he will also make suggestions in Defensive tendencies that he sees, Also would probably help in development of key guys in helping them learn the new offense.

The OC's job is to break down defenses, study play calling from the previous weeks. To determine what works and what doesn't against a particular defense. To tell the team what they should expect on certain situations. During the week, the OC would get the team ready to go and on Sundays/Mondays Cam would take the information gathered by the OC and call the plays.

If there is one thing this season has taught me, its that coaching truly has a big impact on whether we lose or win a game. I've always given 100% percent of the credit to the players for the outcome of the games, but now I see that its a mixture of both planning and acting.

Add up all the above posts, and you probably have about 1/20th of what the new OC will do. Primary thing is implement the offense Cam dictates, make sure the players know what to do and when & where. Learning from Cam should be a good thing for whoever it is, particularly if he's young and up'n'comer.

All of the above....plus the most important thing a coach does.....TEACH!!!
Cam calls the plays yes. But the OC will still have to quality control the O. Technique is gained and lost every week.
