I know this is a huge "What If", but if Henne brings a SuperBowl championship to Miami, something Marino never accomplished, would he supplant Marino as the most beloved sports figure in South Florida?

If not, what would he have to accomplish in order to get this distinction?
 
Henne, in order to unseat Marino as our franchise icon would have to do it twice!
 
No one will likely ever 'catch' Dan as the 'most beloved' sports figure in South Florida. You not only have to take into consideration Dan's football career, but how much he has done down there off of the field.
 
NO....but if he appears in Pet Detective III then he is a shoe-in.
 
**** no. Maybe to the younger generation, but Dan was the man when I first started watching and his was the first jersey I ever got. I'll never be able to say that about Chad Henne.
 
No one will ever be Mr. #1 - Dan the Man, but Henne has a chance to be Mr. 1A. But he has a lot to prove, altought I like what I've seen so far.

Now if he wins 3 SBs...Id have to say yes.

Most beloved sports figure in South Florida? even if he wins one, he still wont be up there with D. wade.

Now in football, he still wont be up there with D. Marino.

If he wins 3, Yeah then he is a lock, but one? even dilfer won one.
 
This is a stupid question. One ring will not instantly make him better or more beloved than Dan. If he wins a ring, or more, and puts together a career nearly as impressive he still won't be, but he may become our Franchise Icon.

Call me crazy if you want but Jeff Conine is very loved in South Florida. I'm not saying that Chad Henne can't pass Jeff Conine but if people want to bring up Dwyane Wade I have to throw in Jeff Conine.

In the three major sports it's Dan Marino, Dwyane Wade (although I'm a bigger fan of Alonzo Mourning) and Jeff Conine.
 
I say yes, If he delivers a championship. I have spent the last 18 years heartbroken at the end each season. Chad end my suffering!
p.s. Dan and JT are my all time favs, so no disrespect Dan.
 
None will surpass Dan the Man. But I believe someone could one day at least match him.

I don't think many Dolphin fans blame Dan for not getting us a championship.

ive been a fan since '78. i f henne wins a super bowl i will forget marino real quick. rings mean more to me than a bunch of records marino doesnt hold anymore.
 
Why would I have to love one of them more than the other? I would love them both!!!
