The Tennessee Titans are currently 2-8 ahead of our 3-7 record. It's possible they end up with a top 3 pick ahead of us. I have noticed alot of people here want leinart. Norm Chow was Leinart's coach at USC so who better to gauge his talent. The question is if the Titans draft ahead of us and they bypass on Leinart do you still want him? If they bypass him is Volek as good or better than Leinart in Chow's eyes?

Well Chow isnt the GM so thats pretty much a moot point. Theres also monetary concerns, they gave Volek a decent deal last year, McNair is still there. They might want to take someone like Bush or go defense. Chows not the president or GM, cmon you know that guy wants Leinart bad, if its up to him they take him, but it isnt.

Yes he is the best Qb in the Draft and the Titans need is not at QB they have there next starter.

Somehow even if the Titans were in position to take Leinart, as much sense as it would make. I just cant see them taking him, after all they still have McNair who is a very good QB when healthy and of course Billy Volek, a QB off the bench who before has played extremely well and could be a solid QB in the league.

My point is that if Leinart had the chance to be the next Brady or Manning that is far more valuable to a team then Reggie Bush could be or Dbrickshaw. They would be foolish to pass up the next great QB for the next great Left Tackle or the next great running back. Basically what i'm saying is that should they somehow end up with a higher draft choice then us I would write off Leinart for the simple reason if he's the real deal, then there is no way they would pass him up and if they dont take him he's not worth the pick

Volek a starter? He was drafted and developed expressly to be a backup. Would the Titans trade Volek? Sure for the right price.

Be that as it may, he's played very well in his time as a starter, and done some solid things in relief for McNair. I think he WOULD be a good starter, and WILL be a good replacement if Mac 9 decides to hang it up within the next few years. However i've heard he wants out of the Smokey Mountains, he may be a drastically cheaper solution to our QB problems.....If anyone wanted to take a look.

I agree. I think if they have a shot at Leinart and he's the real deal in Chow's eyes, Volek becomes trade bait which might be better for us in that I can't see that guy getting more than 3rd or at worst the dreaded 2nd rounder:eek: . We could still bag an impact player with our 1st

How many career backups do you want starting for the Phins?

Gus, Feeley, Feidler, etc?

Sooner or later you've got swallow your pride and draft your QB. Will developing a young QB mean losing some games? Yeah it will. It's a matter of paying the piper now or later.

What it means is that VOLEK is a good QB and they wouldn't have the need to draft one when they have so many other needs

I doubt they'd pass on Leinart, but if they did, I wouldn't hesitate taking him...

He's the best QB coming out of the draft. Some fans here may not agree, but can they back up their statements?? Sure, Cutler is solid, but he's no Leinart....

PHINZ RULE!!!

Volek is hardly a career backup, he started more games than any of those guys and he played well in many of his starts. Feeley had started 5 games when we got him, Fiedler had started like 4 when he came to Miami and Frerotte has started here or there numerous times in his career but again none had played as well as Volek who played most of last season and some relief appearances in the years before.
