If Fiedler deserved Benching then so did Feeley

Whether Feidler or Feely gave Miami the best chance to win last night is kind of irrelevant, IMO. Neither of them will elevate this team to anything higher than mediocrity this season. In the great scheme of things what is really the difference between 5-11 and 7-9 anyway? Feely is either the next season solution at QB or a waste of a 2nd round pick; he must be given the opportunity to develop. That said, he played like a guy without a clue last night; he was just blindly flinging the ball out there without an idea where it was going. The Bengals had 8 passes where they had 2 hands on the ball. Inexcusable. While I saw little to have hope about in Feeely's play, this needs to be more than about this year. Feidler is surely not the long term answer. It must be determined whether Feely can be or whether an investment must be made in someone else after the season.

That brings me to my second point. Unless things improve dramatically, the Dolphins are facing a 5th straight year of regression. At some point, the head of the organization(which I am not sure who it is) is going to have to face the truth that many have felt; that this job is beyond the competency of those entrusted to it. Wannstedt and co. just do not have it; whatever it is. Without an experienced football man to shape this franchise; the owner may well face the same situation as last season; not really knowing or having the experience to judge what has gone wrong and how to fix it. This is why I felt the unwillingness of Huzienga to hire someone to act as head of operations independently of the Dave and Rick show was a major mistake.

I'm sorry, but A.J. is not the answer to this team right now. He isn't mobile like Fiedler. Jay should be starting. Period. We are not a good team, but we have a better shot of winning the close ones with him. We would had a better shot of winning against the Bengals than A.J. that man has tossed 4 TD passes, but 2 to the wrong team. Just cause Jay has a bad half, he sits for the year. I call bull**** and Dave should be fired at the end of the year. I know we are going to go through a ****ty season, but if we are going to go down, lets go down witht the guy we have had the past 4 years. Shame on you Dave for making that change at QB. I'm going to end this response with something that was said years ago when Joe Robbie was still alive. When we had the man at the helm, he said, " the one thing that im afraid we are going to do, is waste Dan Marino talent here". Well guess what, we are wasting away the talent of Chris Chambers now. Spend some ****ing money and get a QB in the offseason that can throw 65 yards down the field, if not, draft one. I'm ready for this ****ty season, are you?

It won't matter which Qb we play right now we have a jail break O-Line. Maybe Randall Cunningham in his prime could have survived.

We simply cant go back and forth on QB's. The pick where Chambers zigged and Feeley zagged was a result of them not playing together enough.

If Wanny put Jay back in, he would be run out of town faster.

Man o' man, heard the same thing last week with Gordan!

We dont have a starting QB on this team. We have 3 backup two 3rd stringers and a 2nd stringer. We have a whole lot of work to be done this offseason. Finding a new coach, and I mean a freaking coach I dont want some idiot that is already in the organization to take over, like what happend with the O.C. job we should have went and gotten a real O.C. Speilman has done an alright job, but do you think that if we would have gotten outside talent at G.M. that Jay would still be here?? Do you think we would still have A.J. at QB??? Would we have Warner, Brunell, Henson???

This is going to be a long season, as much as I hate to say it. Hopefully it leads to an interesting offseason.

Give Sage his shot. Why not.

If Fiedler's play against Tenn. merited a benching then so did Feeley's play against Cincy.

Another clueless DOLFAN!!! Wake up FEELY is the guy now, win or lose. And as far a benching him for his performance, maybe if wade smith and the rest of the O-line decided to actually BLOCK someone and gave him more then 2/10 of a second to throw the ball he wouldn't have made so many mistakes!!!! If McIntosh isn't starting left tackle next week WANNy and his whole offensive staff should be fired immediately!!!

You are aware that the same line blocked for Jay, right? :rolleyes2

Some people here need to take off their ****ing "Jay is the problem" blinders. I'm not saying put Jay back in the game, but I believe we now have plenty of evidence that this whole situation is FAR AND AWAY more screwed up than we thought. Hell, I think we need to start considering the notion that maybe Jay played over his head enough the last four years to cover up the fact that this team has been crap on O. I think maybe that magic has run out on Jay, and I think it's clear that he'd have to be Harry ****ing Houdini to make things seem okay with what we have this year.

AJ has an arm. He makes mistakes. He needs to learn under fire. That's what he gets, and I hope it works out for the best. If so, maybe we'll get at least one positive out of this season on the O side of the house.

Nobody knows about Henson now, but Warner and Brunell would be absolutely brutal here. Hell, I think they'd be worse than what we have. Brunell looks pathetic in a far better situation in DC with a line that at least blocks a little. Warner looked good this week, but he would leave brown stains on the field from crapping himself due to the utter lack of protection. Don't go all "grass is greener" with those two names, and you can also add Patrick Ramsey to that list. He managed to look worse than Feeley did with better protection yesterday.

I dont think either QB wouldve been effective behind that line
There has never been a quote with more truth! The game is won/lost in the trenches, and we have the worst o-line in the league. They were terrible last night. Feeley had no time to throw and Gordon had defenders in the backfield before he even got the ball. Our defense kept us in the game but the injuries are piling up. This could get REALLY ugly.

The only thing Jay gives us is some scrambling abillity he will still throw the same picks. Feely can play we just have to face facts it is going to be a medicore season. Fiedler will not be any better then he is right now Feely will improve. Michael Vick couldn't even getting out of that collapsing pocket will call pass protection. This offense is every bit as bad as all the media says

Great Post!

I don't think JF should start now b/c I think our only option is to go through some growing pains with AJ (and hope the growth comes), but all the people who complained about JF throwing near ints should realize and admit that right now AJ throws more near ints than JF ever did. People can say that AJ gives them hope or that he has potential, but they can't say that he's playing as well as JF has over the last 4 years. If AJ can stay healthy (difficult behind our O-line and maybe that also explains the issue of JF's alleged fragility) we can evaluate him after the season and assess whether the reasons for hope have been validated or crushed.

Feely has been here how long? about nine months. And Jay has been here how long? four years. No one can honesltly tell me that feidler is better than Feely. So if he's not clearly better than feely after being here four years why should he be playing? Makes no sense to me. Wandstadt had no choice but to go with feely. The reason why he pulled jay so fast is that he knows what Jay can do. (Exactly what he did last week) dave was just hopeing that Jay would play better then status quo. Once he saw that jay was his typical self he pulled him. Makes sense to me.

The fact is they are both back-ups, but we didnt give up a 2nd rounder for Jay!

AJ just need some sesasoning... IMO he will blossom eventually.. By playing quaterback carousel would be a wrong move for the team... Even in the wake of A.J. Feeley's miserable performance in a 16-13 Sunday night loss to Cincinnati  can't dare take it away from him.
Not this immediately, they can't. And they won't.
