If flynn was any good he would have been signed by someone already

if i was the seahawks, and matt flynn told me up front that he wasn't going to sign during this visit because he wanted to visit the dolphins before making his decision, i would not have made a contract offer to him either. it doesn't mean that flynn isn't going to be an awesome starter (which nobody truly knows). it's just the right way to handle the situation.

What gets me is why all the crying? In the draft position we are in now. If we drat a Quarterback it's just another crapshoot. Nobody really knows what we are going to get. At least this way we can use our draft pick on someone else. What is your suggestion mortgage the draft for Luck? That is a bad move. Or maybe we should ignore the position all together. Why not take a shot and see what the guy has? I don't see it destroying our cap future. Why not try to enjoy the game rather than drag everybody else down with your negativity. I'm not saying he will be anything but I aint getting my panties in a wad over it. I just want to enjoy the process. If it bothers you that you don't get to make the decisions then either apply yourself and get in the business or give up. Bitching on a fan forum aint gonna help.

True, except the money thats rumored to be given to him is more than a shot.... you gotta be sure if we are going all in with this guy, and im not... i hope im wrong and will gladly concede if he turns out to be great not just average

IF we sign Flynn, our coaches believe he can be the guy. They've watched him in games, in the film room, in the locker room, in the bath room (just kidding), so they know how hard he works, how hard he studies, how much of a leader he is (or not), etc.

I tell you what, if Flynn starts I think our team will be fun to watch next year.

IF FLYNN WAS ANY GOOD HE WOULD HAVE BEEN SIGNED BY SOMEONE ALREADY. This guy has had less action in Free Agency than most players out there. Whether we were waiting for Manning or not, i would think if he had the skills.. some other team would have swooped him up... guess the overall feel in the NFL is what alot of Dolphin fans fear which is an average to above average qb as his ceiling.
Tired of hearing all the blind homer fans giving excuse after excuse for all these qb's since Marino. 17 qb's have come around and everytime there is a new one everyone thinks this is the one. A 7th Rd draft pick with no experience and suspect arm according to those in the know is what you are hoping for. Should we give him a shot if he wants to come in the cheap, hell yeah just like i would like to give every other qb a shot out there. But don't come out saying that Flynn is the answer bla bla blah because this is a broken record SOS....
I prefer Matt Moore, if anything he earned another shot in my book. Draft Tanehill if you feel he is going to be an elite qb.

Matt Moore wasn't even drafted and only had 22 career starts before this year. Let's not act like there's no chance Flynn can play.

Philbin has enough faith to stake his job on this kid. He groomed him in Green Bay and he knows the system. This is a good signing for us. Who do you think knows Flynn and his capabilities the best???? Our head coach, Philbin. Have some faith dolfans. We should be talking about which WRs we should draft rather than worrying about this signing.

First off there were only a couple of great to good QB's out there as free agents, secondly many teams don't have a need to sign a QB if they are looking to draft one. So to say Flynn would have been signed already if he was any good is wrong. Many teams have other needs and their free agent money going elsewhere. People just need to be a little more patient.

Peyton manning has held him up from signing. His other suitors were also in the sweepstakes, remember ?

There were ONLY 2 teams (Phinz and Seahawks) after Flynn period. When Flynn went to the Seahawks they did not offer him a contract so the Phinz really is his only option. The Browns have stated in public that they did not want Flynn, many NFL GM's believe he is limited and can only be good in specific situations (like da Phinz WSO). Currently no one thinks that he will ever be elite, clearly that's not possible but he shold be a good average starter I quess.

Seattle can have him... lets just build through the draft and free up some money for other positions now that it is public we are having cap problems too....

What's next, a thread about how Matt Flynn sucks because most of the other quarterbacks in the league named Matt (Schaub, Ryan, Leinart, Cassell) have never won a playoff game?

Really does anyone outside of the packer organization and Joe philbin truly know?? With his limited playing can anyone really know

Nope, nobody knows. Great point. There is a great video on you tube showing Miami dolphins 1983 video of training camp. On video is David Woodley talking about how a rookie elevates his game and that rookie needs to compete and be challenged BC he wasn't at Pitt. Of course that rookie went on To take his job and go to hall of fame.
