say he caught it, would half the people on this board love him?:ponder:

of course, i'm the only one on this board with faith in ginn, or it seems as if i'm the only one. i hate to say it but most dolphans are so flippy-floppy in their opinions of players.

What kind of question is that... of course we would of. He would of done his job and that is catching the ball and we also would of been 1-1 not too worry about being the worst team in afc east.

It's not that people wouldn't love him. It's that people wouldn't hate him. You need you WR to make plays in big games. That was our game. Ginn catches that ball, we win. It's as simple as that.

defense shows up, we win. its as simple as that.

It's a fan message board. People are going to love and hate our players. It just gets us through til next week game time...

There is no way to rationally defend Ted Ginn now because he didn't catch that ball. There would be no way to rationally hate Ted Ginn if he caught that ball. I had faith in Ted Ginn before that play. As far as I'm concerned, we should just let him play out his contract, admit the Ted Ginn experiment was a failure, and get a real #1.

reggie wayne

his first year 27 reps 345 yards

Ted Ginn

his first year 34 reps 420 yards.

does that make him a bust too?

The question of this thread is like asking if this board if fickle. Answer?: Of course.

Would we love him if he made a clutch catch when we needed it most? Yes.......yes we would. Unfortunately, he didn't. I know the bulk of the blame for the loss goes on the defense, but you gotta make that catch. If there were any doubts that Ginn is a #2 receiver at best, there isn't now.

I'd still be pissed with our defense.

If Ginn was 6'11 270 lbs and ran a 4.1 forty would he be super awesome?

i agree that he should have made that catch, but on the other hand, he shouldnt have had to be in that position to have to make the game winning catch because our defense isnt suppost to let up 27 points in less then 15 minutes. but it was a team effort loss. i still think that it was PI, the guy literally was holding down his jersey before he even jumped. but even with that it hit both his hands, should have been caught reguardless tho.

Ted Ginn

1) Ginn played 3 more games than Wayne did in their first year. 3 more games.
Yet with 3 more games, Ginn only had 7 more catches and 75 more yards.

Ginn had 3 Fumbles, Wayne had 0.

2) In their second year, Ginn started 7 more games than Wayne did. Yet, only had 7 more catches and 74 more yards.

However, Wayne had 4 TD's. Ginn had 2.

Wayne had 2 fumbles. Ginn had 5.

That makes 8 career fumbles for Ginn in 2 years, and Wayne only 2.
