If Gus is our Caretaker who would you like to draft ?

Its all about that ratio... PLUS... he can scramble... Think of it like Vick with a brain... you know, someone who can make smart decisions and read defenses...

Nasty

Exactly. Although he isn't as quick as Vick. He's my top cantidate right now and I hope I get to see atleast one or two Bowling Green games this year.

I'll be watching Jacobs this season.

Players I don't want: Vince Young, Chris Leak

I don't want Leak either but I've heard that Texas has worked really hard with Young on his passing this offseason, so I'm anxious to see how he looks.

Paul Pinegar at Fresno State. Keep an eye on him.

Matt Leinart, or Phillip Rivers. Omar Jacobs has the worst throwing motion in all of college football. Tyler Palko is a player who I believe will be surprise.

Well I'll be looking at Omar Jacobs, but a guy who could be on our radar is Jimmy Williams. Madison is getting old, and Williams could step in and start immediately.

Personally i cant see us picking another top 5 pick. If we do we trade down. I believe Saban and Linehan have the ability to take a QB perhaps late 1st rd(sound familiar?) and getting an extra 2nd rounder perhaps. You could address the QB situation.. and maybe add some depth somewhere on this aging defense. we've actually worked backward for regemes of the past. Where our QB(Marino) was the star. And QBs have been the concern ever since. Well now we've built a pretty darn good list of players on offense. Now we just need the general to lead the men onto the field.

Excellent choice

It will be a miracle if the coaches in Texas can make an actual QB out of Vince Young. If they succeed then they deserve tons of praise.

Matt Leinart
Omar Jacobs
Jay Cutler
Tyler Palko
Chris Leak
Chad Henne*
Paul Pinegar

no certain order

No shortage of QBs in the next couple years.

I'll wait and see. Orton was supposed to be a sure fire first round pick but a subpar year dropped him into the 4th.

Honestly if Gus plays in the 80 QB rating area I'd go with a more developmental prospect in round 2 or 3. Unless QB is the best available player when the team picks in the first.

Drew Tate is pretty good, he's just underrated because he's not as known as the rest. He set like, a lot of records in Texas HS history. I doubt he'll enter this year, but if we decide to go with something other than QB this year, I'd go after him in the 2007 draft. He really is very good, and he's 6'0", which isn' god awful. I Think he'll improve this year and be a fairly known canidate in the 2007 draft. But I hope we can get Matt Leinhart, but it's very doubtful.

Omar Jacobs played last season with two brokeb big toes.

If any of you read ESPN magazine, they had an article on him. Great guy with great character. Hope he lights it up this year and we draft him.

Is it a strong class this year?

I don't follow College as much as NFL so I only know of Lineheart and Whitehurst by talking to other people.

My question is, will there be enough good QB's in next year's draft to fall to a middle first round pick? Assuming we have an ok year and won't pick first or trade up, can we get a good QB?
