Will Poole was rumoured to return by week 10. That was later changed to not playing at all this year. Does anyone have status on Mr. Poole?

My perspective is that if Will Poole returns he will help out that Dolphin secondary. Poole is an awesome tackler from what I saw last year and they need a great tackler. He was supposed to start this year so I hope he returns and helps out that deflating secondary. Does anyone think Daniels and Poole could be the future of the team. I would like to say yes, but I don't want to drink my own koolaid because I realize both were 4th rounders. I like both players though. Take Care

I highly doubt that he'll return. That's one serious injury and even if he were cleared to play, he wouldn't be 100% so I don't think he'd give us much IMO.

Tell ya the truth Shirdonya Mitchell is the guy that looks like he might actually come back in time to contribute this year, not Will Poole.

Where did you get this info from?

i know that when he does come back wether it be next year or sooner. it will be a huge help on our secondary. we will have poole, who we all know has potential, and we will have a young travis daniels who is still learning but it is great that he is getting this experience as a starter in his first year. that will put him on a whole other level next year.

i dont think he should, if miami is not doing good they why bother. Not worth it

Mitchel was hurt about a month or 2 before Poole. That gives mitchell 8 months of rehab vs pooles 6. Rehab for those injuries is roughly 6 months to be active, and then another 6 to be fully back to normal. I doubt poole will be back. It's just to early.

Mitchell may come back though. I know he is a good Return man, but does anyone know about his cover skills?

In one of Nick Saban's press conference transcripts recently someone asked about Shirdonya Mitchell making his appearance with the team in an orange jersey.

Saban said that Mitchell did all of the drills by himself while the team all practiced together. He was in an orange jersey to designate the fact that he was working alone and still rehabbing. But, he was still doing all the same drills. I would think of the orange jersey as like a step below the red jersey. Red means you practice with the team but the jersey itself means people aren't supposed to touch you or go after you. Orange means you're hurt and practicing on your own without the team.

I saw the press conference and came away with the feeling that Nick Saban believes Shirdonya Mitchell could get activated to the regular season roster some time in the next 3 weeks. Remember, he's on the PUP, not IR. We have until about 3 weeks from now to activate PUP players, including Mitchell and Poole. I have a good feeling we'll just be placing Poole on IR, but Mitchell...I think he'll play.

Mitchell is on the NFI list....(non football injury list-which is funny, because he got hurt at his pro day  )

IMO, Poole is way too valuable to this team to be rushed back from his injury. If there is any doubt as to whether or not he should play, I think he should not. Give the injury time to heal and come back strong next season.

Really? The NFI list not PUP??? Is he treated like a PUP? I got the feeling from the PC transcript that we only had a few weeks to decide whether to put him on the roster or not, just like the PUP. Oh well.

Hey whatever happened to Larry Chester anyway. Is he losing weight and still rehabbing, or did he just go all slovenly and start eating cheeseburgers by the dozen. We could sure use him to spell Keith Traylor cuz lord only knows Keith can't keep up this level of performance long.

Don't come back this year... If he plays too early and messes his knee up again then his career would be in jeopardy. Even if he came back, he wouldn't be able to play at full strength... Sit out, come back next season and maybe challenge for a starting spot at CB.

I thought that he was moved to the PUP list too, but according to Dolphins.com, he is on the NFI..I couldn't find the 'official' language about the NFI list, but I am assuming that he can be moved to the active list at any time...I say this because Luther Eliss was activated a couple of weeks ago by the Lions off of the NFI list...??? I'm guessing tho...

That could be good news, but what do you know about his cover skills? Do you think he will have the potential to help the team in the secondary or just as a return specialist.

I have high hopes for Shiridonya Mitchell and Will Poole but where have you heard he might actually come back in time and contriubute this year? I thought he was placed on IR, how would he be able to play this year? And also have you heard anything new on Will Poole whether he will return Week 10 or if he's done for the season.

I would much rather have (2006, Next year):
Sam Madison
Travis Daniels
Shirdonya Mitchell
Will Poole
Eddie Jackson

OVER

(This year)

Sam Madison
Travis Daniels
Reggie Howard
Eddie Jackson
Kiwaukee Thomas
