If Hogan does not make the 53 man roster he is gone

BJ is dealing with a similar issues a lot of big WRs deal with coming into the NFL. At Michigan State he was bigger and stronger than the DBs he went up against. He may be bigger than the DBs in the NFL, but he is no longer stronger. Now reports state he's been getting better, but he may get stashed on the PS. Rishard Matthews seems like he'll get a shot as the return man. BJ doesn't offer that.

As for Hogan, we gotta see it in a game situation, but he has potential

I think the Dolphins keep six receivers. I'm ready to give up on Marlon Moore & Roberto Wallace. I would keep Hartline, Bess, Naanee, Pruitt, Gates & let Hogan, Cunningham & Matthews fight it out for the last spot.

Guys appreciate the enthusiasm... But let's be honest here... I work in film and remember it is EDITED to create drama and to elicit emotion... You have no way of knowing how good or bad he really is.. They are taking sound bites sometimes completely out of context to paint the picture they (the producers) want... it's good entertainment. if another team takes a run at someone on our roster because of a Hard Knocks episode... Well so be it... but it's kind of like drafting a guy based on a highlight reel.

I really do hope we have a gem there but don't trust everything you see.

thats true.. i haven't really heard coach philbin mention him in any of his press conferences, when he talked about who impressed him the most...

The beat writers have been talking Hogan up for weeks, for what that's worth.

I really believe that Phillbin already had planned to stash Hogan on the practice squad and develop him for a year. He probably sees a future play maker, but is not comfortable, due to Hogans lack of experience, using a roster spot on him this season. Best way to do this is NOT to talk about him and NOT to show much of him in preseason games. Of course, last nights Hard Knocks episode has blown that idea all to hell.

yeah, even though i love watching hard knocks, especially now that the dolphins are on, that aspect of it kinda sucks

Everyone needs to read this and then read it a few more times.

Couldn't help but watch this and think of Danny Woodhead's situation with Jets Hard Knocks, followed by him getting scooped up by the Pats.

We've seen undrafted receivers go from nothing to the spotlight on this team in the form of Davone Bess, so if Hogan doesn't make the team we can only assume we weren't seeing the whole picture on HBO. He does have the steep uphill climb of learning the speed of the game while competing against people who have actual game experience in Wallace and Moore.

Time will tell. For now, we should hope for baby steps out of Hogan in the form of getting a shot in practice with the 1s.

The "one" thing you hate about Hard Knocks?

I can name many things I hate about Hard Knocks.

Never wanted a part of this show. It's great if you're just a football fan, but I love this team and I want their full focus on practice and getting better. Don't need guys worrying about cameras, and all of that.

OP is dead on about Hogan though. He looks a lot like Eric Decker so far.

I totally agree. +2 on the bold part.

And like I said before, I'm not drinking the Hogan Kool-aid until he goes up against the 1s. Then we can truly see whether 7-11 closes at midnight.

This is the one thing I hate about Hard Knocks. There is no way to hide Hogan on the practice squad after tonights show if he does not make the 53 man roster. He will be picked up so fast after tonights show

He will be picked up by Patriots and I will put cash on it right now. Bellicheat always gets these white guys from us and jets!

Also Hogan can't start because he is the 2nd back up to Bess. And unless he beats out Pruit who looks good, I don;t see him playing to much slot with 1s.

Do you want Hogan or Bess starting? Think of it like that.

Truth is he will be picked up by Pats once Wes is gone. And be made into a pro-bowler
