Wayne H. is a very likeable owner. He's not an Al Davis or Jerry Jones - both of whom seem to be prima donna's in a way that can often be very off-putting. He is also an owner willing to spend money - which is a nice feature for Dolphin fans.
The problem with Wayne H. is he is too nice - especially to his managerial staff (coaches; front office). And, sometimes, he's not decisive enough.
I am very happy with the Cam Cameron hiring. Huizenga looked at several good candidates and went with this one. Often, it is difficult to determine if a guy is going to be a successful head coach or not. With Capers in the fold as the DC for the next few years and the addition of Cameron's expertise on offense - those two areas should be effective.
The key will be selecting quality talent - in both the draft and free agency.
However, Huizenga's allowing Meuller to be exposed to Tennessee and other teams, b/c of a failure to rewrite the contract is being too soft.
There really aren't many solid, experienced GM candidates out there. Huizenga did say that they were changing the operations system from the one man dictatiorship, but they really haven't since Meuller's contract still calls for him to answer to the head coach. Wayne H. needs to secure Meuller. And, he needs to do so today.
Wayne has done the same thing in the past - allowing coaches or managerial types to interview - and leave. It is time to secure the fences of our own border's - keep people from leaving so easily.
The turnover in personnel in the management area - does not make for good teams. But, continuity is what makes it work. Then, stop allowing others to be interviewed. I'm tired of both people leaving and even the threat to leave.
Huizenga is going to be a laughingstock to the league as they continue to raid various coaches; players; and execs.
