I 'VE BEEN THINKING so look out , for i think i can fix this team by doing the following things so tell me if this will work or not.
first and foremost i would qb draft drew tate even if cpepper comes back.

second , i would trade hagan and chambers for randy moss then i would draft d'juan woods and use gibson for a return guy and a special wr formation only.

third , i would bring in a big cb in f/a

fourth, i would draft 1 dt cut ties with manny wright.

fith , i would sign te marcellous rivers and use a two te set and a two rb set

next, i would draft two olinemen and bring in a kicker

finially i think i would do this but not too sure but i would but ricky if he fails another test and i would sign fullback shawn willis and use him and barnes in a special blockbust offense on goalline plays.

i would take a really good look @ the o-line then look @ a QB and then maybe a CB and FS but the first thing i would do is give mularkey the boot lol

when are you going to draft thse olineman? 5th, 6th, 7th round? you think they will come in and fix the line? because we've done that the past 2 years already...

also where are you getting this money for an overpriced FA CB that would be an upgrade over what we have? taking on randy moss' contract and the hits involved in trading chambers would put us in a ****ty cap situation... and then what about the age on our Dline? another LB? youd rather get a backup QB in tate than a starting LB?

and its easeier this year to fix, because saban has put us in this situation by not signing overpriced free agents and fixing our cap situation to be able to fix the team... the problem was it couldn't be done in 1 season, or even 2... its a process... people need to realize this

Ugh! Drew Tate?!

Believe me, I live in Big Ten country and I have seen Drew play every Saturday and he would get eaten alive in the NFL. No thanks on that. However, I would be all about drafting a QB if a talented one fell to us(Troy Smith maybe?).

I would love to keep this defense in tact. Get another OL either through the draft or free agency.

I would sign Asante Samuel and Leonard Davis in Free agency then draft DE-Gaines Adams even if I have to move up in the draft to get him. I would then go into next seaon with Culpepper and Lemon as my QBs. Last but not least I would draft a TE and RELEASE Randy McDrops.

For the off-season, I would do some moves that would clear the cap. I would keep our most essential free agents (David Bowens, Keith Traylor, Cleo Lemon, Wes Welker, Yeremiah Bell, amongst others. Those are just the ones off the top of my head).

I would then go after any free agents that would improve either side of the ball. Preferably in the cornerback and wide receiver area as well as outside linebacker.

As much as I would love to fire Mularkey (and trust me, I would LOVE to do so), I say we keep Mularkey unless there is a better OC that....

A). Doesn't call trick plays an excessive amount of times
B). Doesn't under-utilize players
C). Actually knows that the FB position exists
D). and is not afraid to go deep.

During the draft, whatever we need that we didn't get in FA, we answer it in the draft.

Round 1 - A cornerback to sure up our CB corps, a left tackle (depending on Alabi's progress) or an OLB (preferably a pass rushing DE/OLB hybrid like Woodley, Adams, and Moses. But if we're picking a strict pass rushing OLB, can't go wrong with Willis).

Round 2 - Same as above, minus the Willis comment. Also look for the Best Receiver available.

Round 3 - Nose Tackle

Round 4 - Kicker (yeah, I said it. Draft a kicker that will push Mare).

Round 6 - A great blocking Tight End.

Round 7 - BPA

1) Hire a new O coordinator
2) Trade Chambers and McMichael for whatever I could get for them.
3) Cut/let go/trade the older defensive players with the exception of Taylor and Thomas.
4) Cut/trade Harrington
5) Cut or trade Mare
6) Draft a QB with one of our first day picks
7) Draft O linemen with the remaining first day picks
8) Draft D linemen/LBs with second day picks
9) Pick up a decent FA WR and TE...guys who can hold onto the ball.

draft a young QB round one to get behind CPEP
speed on offense, wr or rb
add to oline
add to LB speed needed
one more corner

thinking about it, last year my list was much longer, so we must have gotten better
