If it's Bowles, what was the point of firing Sporano?

bowles is a viable HC candidate. that does not mean he gets this job, but all the idiots who dismissed his interview as "rooney rule fulfilled" are typical sheep. the guy has some potential and deserves a real shot. im glad he is getting a second interview, and if we go with philbin or mccoy i hope he stays on as DC.

shouldn't you be good at you current position before your looked at for a promotion?

Maybe the question should be "if it's NOT Bowles, what was the point of firing Sparano ?"

The only reason I can think of for firing Sparano when they did (with 3 weeks left) is to see how Bowles does in charge - kind of an extended job interview. He got good results so if he doesn't get the job you have to ask what was the point of making the change when they did. Are they saying he needed to go 3-0 and win in Foxboro ? Or that Philbin / McCoy would have done better ?
