We are almost set at a HUGE upgrade at the Oline from a couple of years ago. HOWEVER, who will be our other starting guard?... Drew Mormino? a draft pick? .. and if it is a draft pick, you gotta assume its gonna be a late round draft pick so most likely, it wont be the most talented of players (i know, i know there r some lucky late rounds picks)... but this should be interested and all in all, Im psyched that we may FINALLY have a Oline for another 10 years.. (Next thing we need to do is give Carey an extension)

Well Mormino actually looked good last year before going on IR but he will probably compete with a draft pick. I have Kerry Brown as a decent option for us in the later rounds but who knows, they might just use one of the 2nd rounders on a guard or convert a tackle into a guard to who knows. I have to assume that Tuna Co. has a pretty good idea of who they want or they would have signed someone by now.

check my sig and find out all you can about the guards in it. Both sick players.

I'd love John Greco...I think he would be a good 4th round pick.

Would Jake Long start at right or left tackle this year?

I was just thinking that right tackle is easier than left so he would be able to learn in the NFL with less difficultly his first year. We also already have a started left tackle in Vernon C.

Why would the new guard have to be a low round pick? I would expect we'll draft a G in round 2 or round 3. It's a weak draft for guards, but there are a few guys that are solid. And there are some tackles that could slide inside to G. You can bet that two our first 4 picks will be offensive linemen.

Theres an argument to be had for taking the best Tackle left at 57 in the draft after you take Jake Long at 1. You then either put Carey at RT (Long will have to play Left pretty soon on that money) and play the Tackle (Say Sam Baker) at Left Guard or else just kick Carey in to Left Guard.

Jake Long, Vernon Carey, Samson Satele, Justin Smiley, Sam Baker.

Hell of a left side there Ronnie would havea field day.

Take either a CB or MLB at 32.

If anyone thinks the OL is going to come out blazing... no matter the draft picks.... it's not a reasonable expectation...

Altered scheme... different players.... young players... no established chemistry... and on and on....

If they stay healthy and show improvement over the course of the season... you'll know we may have something.... until next year!!

Have faith and patience... it's not a quick fix....

I think the plan would be to have Jake Long play left tackle....It just doesn't make any since to pick a right tackle #1 overall

Just in CASE, we have the luxury of starting him at RT because we have a quality LT in Vernon Carey . . . but yes, if we draft Jake Long, it will be to play LT.

Because we would be solid in four of five spots, therefore you can plug in a guy later. The value of other positions available in the second will be greater than the available OG's.
E.Young should be looked at in the 4th round, he played great his junior year and was thought of in high regard then and was injured last year and missed majority of the season.

If Brandon Albert SOMEHOW made it to 32 . . . . I think I may buy season tickets to see this OLine in person.

However, 2 OLine selections that early almost certainly means we wont resign Vernon Carey. Wouldn't that be too much money on the Line?

If it was for B.Albert who cares, pay the man. That would be a sic Offensive Line for years and years.

Witch Morimino were you watching? I sure hope he's gotten stronger.
