If Joey Goes in What Will Happen

He has a chance of lighting it up and doing amazing. Who knows, he could be awesome. However, most likely he will suck. Just like he did in Detroit. Just like our other "saviors" Ray Lucas, Brian Griese and AJ Feeley did. He will probably do as bad, or worse than Daunte. Who knows though. He did look good in preseason. Maybe we should give him a shot. Culpepper will be good in the future. However, he is not the answer now. He looks like Drew Bledsoe in the pocket. Literally. He has lost all his mobility and that is what made him so good. Culpepper will be good in the future, but right now he is no where near healthy, so maybe we should let Joey start against Tennessee.

If Joey came in for this week and next week I know exactly what would happen. He would probably end up leading the Dolphins to 2 wins which would easily fool the naive Finheaven community that he was the answer at QB. Similiar to the way Brian Griese made fools of the same community back in 2003 when he had a good game vs a very bad San Diego team only to crumble when the Dolphins faced better competition and PROVE that Jay Fiedler was the better option for this team. Then we would go into New England and get beaten down due to porr QB play and the main forum here would be polluted with "Start Cleo Lemon" threads. That is pretty much it in a nutshell.

very true

that or bring back gus threads

I say let D.Cul start the Titans game. I think he will be ready for retribution! As long as the OL brings their game...

if joey starts hell be sacked far more than culpepper would, would throw more picks because of being rushed, and would definately not be throwing over 250 yards per game. tennesee daunte will shine, and everyone will jump on his bandwagon. houston we will win again, and everyone will love daunte. by this point hell be more comfortable on his leg, more chemistry, more confidenc, and ready to roll

exactly, everyone is making joey out to be a godly qb, he played against back ups in the preseason

when daunte turns around and puts up huge numbers and wins a lot of games starting next week, i dont want to see all the joey lovers and daunte haters rooting for this team

you guys dont deserve it

He'll get sacked even more and throw twice as many picks while showing zero progress because he's not the one with the injury, playing away from how he's used to playing. Then, he'll go cry to the staff and ask to be traded, while carrying around the "I need a chance of scenery" tag. "All I need is a new start"

He's a solid backup and nothing more, so let's leave it at that.

He'll get sacked more? I doubt that's possible. Daunte Bledsoe moved so slow out there I wondered why he was in at all. I'm positive Joey could move quicker than him at this point. Yeah let's put a gimp out there and lose games because his name is daunte culpepper. He had better decide whether he can perform up to standard or not soon. If not he needs to get on the bench.

What will happen is the team will wake up because they like his fire and we will be better.. Did you see him in preseason how he is always positive and active every moment ? I think he brings a youthful exuberance Culpepper lacks..

I have zero doubt we would have beaten Buffalo with Harrington in there.. He makes his progressions much better , and he would have seen the wide open receivers and hit em instead of holding on to the ball for all eternity.

I was rooting for this team when you were still crapping your pants , don't tell me what I deserve. I want to see him win but I don't have some love affair with him like some of you to where I'm going to sit back and make excuses for him when he's flushing my favorite team down the $$$$er. He had better step up soon. If it's his injury then he needs to be on the bench until it's better.

Culpepper even with his knees banged up is still more mobile than Harrington, believe me.

His knee looks 50% if even that much at the moment.

I don't believe you because I watched the game and the only QB he's more mobile than is Drew Bledsoe. That's not saying too much. He was slow and he was scared to step into his throws half the time. I know he's busting his butt to get back to normal but he doesn't need to be out there if he's just going to be a liabillity. We'll see next week. I want to see him excel but I'm not going to make excuses for him. I think Joey would have been playing with a lot more confidence if he would have been put in last week. That's because Daunte had almost zero.

People don't realize what missing such a huge aspect of your game does to your abilities, overall.

For now, it's going to be all about comfort since he won't be his old self for a bit. With comfort comes confidence, and to gain comfort, you need confidence. I don't know who really expected that confidence to come against defenses like Pittsburgh and Buffalo, especially right after missing so many regular season games. I mean, let's face it - teams who defeat those two defenses are more than likely going to win ugly football games. Healthy or not, I wouldn't expect any QB in this league to rip apart those D's. If he wants that confidence, he'll have his best shot against Tennessee. He should be able to tear that defense apart, provided he's got time to throw the damn ball.

IMO, just throw it to whoever Pacman Jones is covering. Guaranteed confidence boost.
