For those who believe we can make the playoffs:

They will clinch the division, therefor giving us no chance in making the playoffs. Their record would become 8-5 with a 4-0 divison record. The best we could finish is 9-7 with a 3-3 divison record. So it's all on the shoulders of Buffalo right now. Unless however NE wins and looses all of their 3 remaining games, they would finish 8-8. So we HAVE to win all 4 games left to even think about making the playoffs.

No Next week your season will effectively be over in SD when the chargers make suschi of the fish. Add it up any way you want to after that and the fish aren't winning the east. Better luck next season.

I can't believe that as descimated as NE is with injury they will still easily win the AFC east. So much for parity in the NFL.

Actually to be more specific The senario reads like this:

NE can clinch the division next week with a win in buffalo and a miami loss to the chargers.

Actually new england doesnt have to lose next week


There are 4 games left

7-5 new england

5-7 miami

Even if the Bills lose then new england would have to win another game to clinch it since they would have the potential to go 8-8 and us 9-7 winning the division

But then we place it on the shoulders of the Jets...which im not comfortable doing

Best way to make the playoffs is this

Win out, go 9-7 hope new england loses 2 games before we play them, then take care of NE in the final game


They play Buffalo, Tampa, the Jets, and then us

They could lose 3 of those games, and our only game left that semi scares me is San diego after that we get New york and Tenessee, what shoukd be easy wins then NE, we still have a shot really

That is all ok and dandy... chances are slim to get into the playoffs... what I care about is the evolution under Saban. And, if by chance we can get in an 8-8 season, that would be great for his record. I heard somewhere that Saban never went under .500 in a season as a head-coach. Would be great to follow that trend! Imagine 8-8 after the season we had last year!

Also, beating the Pats in Foxboro, even though it would mean nothing for the division would be sweet.. having them go into the playoffs on a down note would make me QUITE happy!

Hell no. 6 teams make the playoffs from each Conference. 4 Division winners, 2 Wild Card's. Indy and Cinci will win respected divisions. That leaves 2 WC and 2 DW. Denver, SD and KC all have 8 or more wins. Pittsburgh has 7 wins. Jacksonville has 9 Wins. Therefore, we would have to somehow hope we win all 4 games, and Deven, SD, KC, Pit and Jac ALL lose atleast 3 games. Impossible.
