Look at the teams last year in the championship conference finals below . All 4 supported a 2 back RB system.

New england(Maroney and Dillon)
Indinapolis(Rhodes and Addai)
Chicago(Benson and Jones)
New Orleans(Bush and Mccallister)

Other playoff teams did so as well.
San Diego(Turner and Tomlinson)
Dallas (Jones and Barber)
Giants(Barber and Jacobs)

Thats 7 out of 12 playoff teams(wouldnt be much of a stretch to add the Jets to this list either)

Need further proof? Why do you think New England rushed out to grab our Morris after they whacked Dillon. What about the prior year superbowl Pittsburgh(PArker and Bettis) We will not win on Ronnie Brown alone.

We have 1 slightly above average RB in Ronnie Brown(#23 in rushing last year) Look back to the stats from the 2005 season ending 6 game winning streak. R Williams carried this team on his back. Ronnie had 178 yards rushing 3 fumbles, and 1 TD in those last 6 games. Williams had 1 fumble, over 500 yards rushing, and 5 TDs over those last 6 games.
If we dont have R Williams, then we will need to address the issue early in the draft(day 1 would be nice) to be competitive offensively next season.
yes we need offensive line, but I would love to see one of our 4 day one draft picks be a RB if no Ricky this year. This team needs 2 quality RBs, its the state of the league right now. Plain and Simple. We have 1, and we need another. We will not be a contender on 1 quality RB alone and IM sure Cameron knows this and will do whats right.

Ronnie Brown slightly above average?!?!?!?
Ronnie missed 4 games this year and still rushed for a 1000, and the was inspite of a ******* OC. In '05 when ricky "carried" the team, ronnie had a bad ankle, and if memory serves me I would say Chris Chambers carried us through the win streak. I am all for Ricky coming back, but let's be realistic, it is Ronnie's job, and with a true offensive mind running the show, he could easily rush for 1500 yards and 12-15 td's.!!!!!

I think we look to land brian leonard in late round 2. but most likely early round 3

Danny Ware (UGA)
or
Chris Henry (Unv of AZ)

I like those 2 guys...plus we can spend a late pick to get either

R Brown is not a top 10 RB in this league. Top 15 yes, but top 10 no. anyone would easily place these 10 in front of him(no particular order)...Your point about the ankle although somewhat valid, only it confirms what Im saying, R Brown hasnt played a full season without injury since early hi school.

Another thread hating on Ronnie.
I thought they all bolted.

If we take a RB in the second round (which we better not) it should be Tony Hunt...he is a great blocker and believe me with our lack of OL we will need that.

Another Ronnie bashing thread. If Ronnie is slightly above average...Ricky is more of the same. He has done NOTHING.
Oh, wait yes he has. He has literally spit in his fan's faces and pulled his pants down and crapped all over the Miami Dolphins organization. Yet Dolphin fans want more of him.
Ricky sure is pimpin. Wish I could learn his technique of keepin fans in check.

I dont think you can read too good cause you sure missed the point on the initial post. My point is We need to get with the current state of the league and have two quality RBs on our roster. We only have one RB of quality and one is not enough for us to find success in the division much less the postseason. Thats my main point. Ronnie Brown is a starting RB on just about any other team, but hes not a kind of RB that can carry the entire team alone for a whole season.

Actually . . .and this is me I wouldnt' take him over:

LT
Alexander
LJ

Those are the 3 studs in the league right now.

The rest of those guys (Tiki is retired) are about even to me . . . yes Gore broke out last year, I'm glad for him . . he is from the "UUUUU" . . . but with his injury history I would take Ronnie Brown. I just feel Ronnie is the complete package in a back . . . fantastic in pass protection and receiving. He gets no props because he has been behind a pretty bad OLine (still average more than 4 yards a carry his first 2 seasons . . . and this is w/o him having long runs . . . alot of times guys averages are bloated because of longs runs.) but I see great ability from Brown and this really is his year to break out.
