With USC and Texas seemingly on a collision course to the Rose Bowl, I was pondering the biggest what if of this college football season. What if Matt Leinart doesn't score on that last play against Notre Dame? What if the refs had ruled differently on the play before? What if USC had lost to Notre Dame? The question I'm really interested in is who would be playing Texas in the Rose Bowl if USC had lost? USC still? Notre Dame? Penn State? LSU perhaps? I'm interested in what you think.
Also on a somewhat related note, if USC loses to UCLA next weekend who do you think will be going to the Rose Bowl? USC still? BCS number 3 Penn State? Or will LSU pass Penn State in the BCS ranking by winning the SEC championship game?

Penn St probably.

Since if you re-watch the tape they got screwed by the refs. ND still lost to Mich St who sucks this year.

But the voters are so in love with Charlie "The New Christ" Weis and ND that they'd probably have them in the Rose Bowl anyway.

I don't know what would of happened of ND did beat USC, but even if USC loses to UCLA, they'll still be in the Rose Bowl.

it wouldn't be penn state. they loss the same day as the notre dame game, and they wouldn't have leapfrogged USC at any point. so i guess LSU would be in the championship, with USC ending up 3rd in the country

You think if ND had beaten USC they wouldnt even finish 3rd? I think they'd be in the Rosebowl. The Michigan St loss sucked, but it was in OT and Michigan St was playing good football at that time. They gave us the game to when they fumbled w/ a minute and a half left. We just couldnt drive for fg damnit :fire: Besides LSU lost to Tenn who was playing well at the time but is horrible now. It is also a team that ND beat convincingly. ND is basically two plays from being undefeated which makes me happy and really sad at the sametime
