I know that BP drafted White, but honestly guys, I don't see how he fits in here. While he really didn't have much preparation for game day as a starter, he looked AWFUL on the field. Err actually he looked worse than awful. Like a deer in the headlights.

Personally, he is too small to be an NFL qb and must weight 150 lbs soaking wet. While we could do a Kordell Stuart experiment with him, I don't think he really fits in here. The problem is Miami admitting they blew a pick...

That being said, if Chad does come back, I don't think Miami can give him the reigns back no matter how he performs during training camp. This has to be Henne's team. I just don't see a team other than maybe the Browns or St. Louis or maybe even Carolina that could use Pennington as a stop gap measure.

I don't doubt that Pennington liked it here in Miami and honestly him returning as the backup would provide Henne with some more mentoring. I personally would have no problem with that and it gives us a solid backup in the case that Henne gets hurt so that we don't have to worry about Thigpen carrying the load. However, Thigpen could really come into his own as well leading to an interesting qb competition for the back up spot in training camp.

That again leaves White. I still don't see the guy becoming anything special in the Wildcat either. He just looks like Ted Ginn's brother except he will take a hit but when he does, he looks like he got killed nearly each time. You can bet though that after that unfortunate hit on him during the Steeler's game that he is going to have some hesitation for awhile when in the game.

Personally, I say we trade the guy for a 5th rounder or so. Just break ties with him and let him move on to a better situation. He isn't going to play here anyway in the near future on a regular basis. I know we will take some flack from the "experts" and that would force our F.O. to admit he was a project in the 2nd round butI keep trying to see where he is going to fit in and I cannot see it.

Certainly, while the Wildcat or whatever you want to call it has done us well, I just cannot see Henne and the phins going back to that like we did this year considering how well Henne performed while Brown was out. Or at least in a capacity that get's white onto the field.

So, if Pennington wants to come back, I say we bring him back. Even open it up for a 3 way qb competition. I doubt Henne will lose the job but it will keep him motivated if he see's us re-sign Pennington. That leaves White as the odd man out and if we moved him to WR, that is going to be another 2-3 years to see if it pans out. Bess, Hartline, Camarillo and even Ginn are light years ahead of what White would be at WR.

Just some thinking. What do you think?

My guess is nobody will give anything close to a 2nd rd pick for White.

I'd rather bring in a QB in the later rounds of the draft. At least that way we can hedge our bets for a long-term QB while making it possible to gain draft picks down the line if Henne does work out.

I hope Pennington comes back to be our backup, but it dosent change anything with White. White is expendable whether Pennington come back or not. No one would trade us anything for White either. Just cut the ****ing guy and let him go the **** home peacefully. He ****ing blows.

I can see now this is going to get bad. Real bad.

Its going to be worse than Beck. Because the dude is worse than Beck ever dared to be. Yet, you have a handfull of people who still think he has potential, a handfull that thinks he should play another position, and a handfull that thinks he should stick around just because....you know, the whole stupid he was a 2nd round pick and you cant give up on him yet argument. BS. He ****ing blows and is completely worthless and a waste of roster space. Just dump him now and get it over with.

What a debacle. Quite possibly the worst draft pick in NFL history. The ****ing worst.

Penny shouldn't be back as anything other than a coach. The qb controversy would follow soon and is something Henne don't need from the media or the fan base. If people are happy with a cluck and duck offense....then I guess this team goes no where until Penny retires or a new staff comes in and dumps the roster again.

Tell us how you really feel...lol. That being said and while I don't agree with your approach, I have to agree with the underlying message. White may prove to be something in the NFL when he gains some weight and is developed in a different position. However, one thing he will NEVER be in the NFL is a qb. I have no clue how our F.O. ever thought he would be anything but hindsight is now 20/20.

Trade the dude during the draft or package him in with another player for picks or a player. Either way, he doesn't need to be here given our current QB situation and even our wideout situation and he for sure in the hell isn't a rb.

If CP comes back to Miami, there will always be a contraversy/competition. I don't rule it out anymore, anything is possible. I think he would more than likely go somewhere he knew he would be able to compete to be the starter rather then come in knowing he was there to help Henne and ride the bench.

Having pennington back doesn't mean he would be the starter. Actually I would be very surprised if he was able to beat out Henne in training camp anyway. He just doesn't have the arm strength like Henne does to make all the throws when he needs to in the NFL anymore. Given another shoulder injury, we have no clue what kind of ball he throws now.

Henne does need someone to continue to push him and that is why I could see this happening. Pennington is a smart guy. I think he understands where his role is if if wants to play in the NFL. While teams like cleveland, carolina and St. Louis could take a look at him, I think their current qb's, with the exception of Cleveland, probably give them a similar or "better" chance at winning.

Either way, I still scratch my head to find a reason for miami to keep White.

There's a semantical debate elsewhere parsing Coach Tony's words about committing the starting job to Henne. If there truly is reticence, the only reason I can think of, although not agree with, is their hope and desire for Pennington to return.

If that was the case, I can see them keeping White because of the investment and decision-makers' ego involved and packaging Thiggy (2 Ints in 8 attempts) as part of a Draft Day trade to amass more desperately needed picks.

We could always use one of our 6th round picks and maybe find a sleeper pick at a small school that everyone always seems to overlook, or a guy like Zac Robinson of Oklahoma State....then we keep Henne and Thigpen and trade or release White. White is just too small to play in the NFL.

I could see that as well but White looks like pure crap on the field. I know he doesn't get much time other than with the practice squad but man he looks bad.

Thigpen is light years ahead of White and I would be very surprised if Thigpen was traded instead of White but could see it happening.

Again though, if Pennington is given back the reigns of the team without a competition (doubt that would happen), it is one of the dumbest things our F.O. could ever do. If Henne is injured or absolutely regresses considerably to warrant such a change, that is one thing. He showed me enough this year to be the man in Miami. He should only get better once he has more time as well as we draft a TE and get a defense that doesn't give up 14 big plays a game.

WV is right but the problem is the FO wanting to give up to quick and not have to admit they blew that pick. This is possibly the worst pick the Dolphins have ever had. Worse then Avery, Green, and yes, John Beck.

Interesting thought from Vaark and possibly more realistic is if Pennington did resign as the back up, Thigpen should garner at least a 5th, which right now we don't have.

Wouldn't surprise me to see a couple of decent players being traded for picks or a package for a WR.
