If Pennington came back today?

I love Pennington and the way he plays but I think we have to see what Henne has this year, and look to the future. I hope CP comes back and I think he would make a nice backup QB, but I would have Henne and probably Pat White ahead of him. I think Pennington can help Henne and White reach their potential.

I think he retires after this year, if he does get healthy maybe he could go to the browns and try to dig them out of their graves.

While the consensus will say Henne keeps his job, I think the plan was to have Penny 1more year and bring on Henne next year. If penny came back I think he would eventually start again.

No...we have turned the page. He would be welcomed as a back-up if Henne went down...but that is all.

No, love what Pennington did for us, and I will forever think very highly of him, but week to week you can see Henne is growing, and becoming a better QB, and with a little more time out there I predict by the 14th game he will be more then just a game manager, but a player teams will have to plan for.

Pennington is done as the Dolphins starter, and I don't think the team has any plans on re-signing him after this season. They drafted Pat White and traded for Tyler Thigpen. You don't make those two moves and plan on re-signing Pennington.

Honestly my dream scenario is this:

1. Dan Henning retires(which most people expect he will)

2. David Lee is promoted to Offensive Coordinator

3. Pennington retires and joins the Dolphins as QB coach.

Yes. Henne is garbage.
Henne is young and has only made four career NFL starts. Which by the way he is 3-1 in.

Yes he has made some bad decisions, but that is to be expected with a quarterback that is very early in his career. He is growing and will only continue to get better. Look at Joe Flacco last season. He sucked most of his early starts in 2008, but grew into the position. Henne has actually started off better then that.

This is one of those "what if" questions that really cannot be answered based on how Henne and the team have played since Penny went down. When Penny went on IR, the team moved on from him mentally. Henne knew that it was his team and no one would be looking over his shoulder. If it was announced that Penny would be out for only four weeks as opposed to the season, surely this would have effected everyone mentally and likely the results on the field would have been different.

That being said, based on what we have seen I don't see how you could put Henne back on the bench if Penny was coming back.

It is irrelevant that they are 3-1 in games he has played. What is Vince Youngs record, and he is a terrible quarterback.

I like a lot of what I've seen from Henne, but we are NOT 3-1 because of him. The first Jets game he was lights out, but aside from that he has been OK at best. The defense, special teams, and the running game are reasons for us being 3-1, not Henne.

You guys act like we've gone 0-4 since Pennington got hurt.

3-1 with a sweep over the Jets? I'll take it.
