We would have the 16th overall pick based on records. We are the only team that is at .500. Everyone else either has 2 more wins then looses or 4 looses more then wins. By the way did everyone see how Dr. Z dropped us two spots from 16 to 18 after a win...I think he's still bitter over the Colts loosing..and Bob Griese saying "he was rooting for the colts!"

He was right, they barely beat the Jets, one of the NFL's worst teams.
Miami should have won by more than 2 TDs.
In the grand scheme, rankings don't matter, just Ws.

I hate this stuff. It doesn't take emotion and heated rivalries into account at all. It's strictly paper, and that's why I don't look at power rankings. The fact of the matter is, when 2 AFC East rivals clash you can throw the should have's, could have's and would haves right out the window. We have all known this for years. Did the great Pats fall when they lost to a 2-11 Miami team last year??? Probably not. Did Dr. Z say they should have won by 3 TD's??? I doubt it. It's all clutter.

Or he could be saying that we struggled against the Jests (which we did) even tho they are just a shell of the team that they projected to be this year. On the other hand, he moved some folks up after wins that affected our ranking as well....

he's rankings look to be on pure record...what a looser

it's LOSING not loosing. it still boggles my mind how many people make this mistake.

should we have won by more? probally

BUT

A win is a win and a loss is a loss regardless of score

based on how we've played the past four games we should atleast be ahead of the Falcons despite of the record difference. I'm telling you the Media keeps hating..they don't even respect the '72 Fins..I think those guys should be proud of what they've accomplished but they should tone it down a little. In the end it is the only landmark South Florida has..It's history baby. I'm surprised how many people are taking cheap shots at the 72 fins! Including our own Dan Lebetard..I guess that's expected from him. I do agree on one thing the game now and the game before are two completely different things. Anyways back on the subject..let's say we win both our games coming up..and finish 9-7 do we fall down all the way to the 20's come draft time? If we do I see Saban trading out and stockpiling picks.

If his rankings were purely on record, he wouldn't drop us 2 spots with a win now would he?:shakeno:

we finish 9-7 we wont really fall far from the 16th pick

everyone is really 2 games ahead or behind us in the NFL

And I dont think all the teams 2 ahead will lose out

well the teams ahead of us have better records then us and the team below have worse records then us. With the exception of Detroit and Houston he's pretty much rated on record..take a look for yourself.
