If Sparano survives the bye, he likely survives most, if not all, of the season

im just not a fan of tanking a season even for a top qb. A good coach and gm dont need the top pick to actually have a good team. i stand behind fire sparano hire shottenheimer marty type to coach out rest of year and evauate staff and players. let him also make decision on Ireland

Your plan makes a lot of sense...

Henceforth, they will do the EXACT OPPOSITE.

The stuff being talked about that's coming from the vets isn't exactly the kind of stuff that inspires a lot of confidence. Bad/sloppy/unfocused practices. You gotta be kidding me. It's September in the NFL. That **** don't fly.

When they were 0-2 and more established players were calling guys out for poor body language and "here we go again" attitudes after just two games, you really have to wonder about the team's psyche. And if the team's head isn't straight, the coach needs to get it right. Period. TS is not a coordinator here, he's supposed to be the leader. Time to lead, or GTFO.

Honestly I have no problem on Sparano finishing the year out. As hopeful that I am that we will make a miraculous turnaround this year, the odds are that we wont. And if we don't than it seems that it's certain that Sparano is gone.

Any interim coach that we hire will not be the one getting the job at the end of the year, not with Ross running the show. So I don't see any reason to let go off Sparano unless the players quit on him and want a new coach. With the recent comments about playing to save Sparano's job, that doesn't seem to be the case yet.

yep, be happy that sparano is your HC. much better chance for the apparent suck for luck sweepstakes. there should be less complaining too imo.
Hopefully that includes complaining about complaining too.

I have to agree. The bye week will be the time he gets axed. But if he is still here come Week 6, then we will be stuck with for the season. And if that is the case, Ross would do good to use that time to start doing his research on the next head coach, and hopefully, a new general manager.

I just can't root for us to lose. It isn't in me.

I'm not rooting for us to lose. I want us to run the table and go 13-3. Realistically, we are dead in the water. Interim coaches historically provide an initial push with a few wins before the team regresses back to where it was. This team is not going anywhere this year. Even Mike Nolan seems to have thrown in the towel. At this point, if we are going to miss the playoffs anyways, may as well hope for the best draft pick possible. One bad year can set us up for 15 years of competitiveness, if Ross plays it smart...

If we lose against the Chargers he needs to go.

But then again, so do most of the players.

So you'd rather us finish middle of the pack, miss out on the top QBs yet again, and hope a second tier QB pans out? No thanks.

We are what we are, a talented team that has quit on their coach. That puts us in a unique position to become competitive very quickly. We have talented backs and WRs, some solid pieces on the line, and some serious talent on defense. If you put a top tier QB on this team and get a coach who knows better than to start Colombo, this is a playoff team. If Luck is what everyone says he is going to be, we're looking at the next generation's Peyton Manning. That isn't just any QB, we'd be getting the bar that all QBs over the next 20 years will be compared to. Put that on an offense that already features Brandon Marshall, Davone Bess, and Reggie Bush and all of a sudden we're putting up 30+ point a game. Is missing out on that worth not looking at Sparano over the next 3 months...?

Why would you want players, talented as they may be, that quit on *any* coach?

I have had lousy bosses, but I've never tanked because of it.

He will survive. Ross doesn't know what to do. If he had a clue, he would have fired him last year.

It's not fair to compare a football team to the workplace, it's a different dynamic. If you don't believe what the coach is saying, you tend to start just going through the motions. It happened to me and my team when I played football in High School. The coach was a douchebag and didn't know his head from his ***, so it was tough for us to buy into what he was saying. We played and we were trying to win, but when you don't believe in what you're doing, you just can't put your heart into it. That's probably whats going on here...

Or he will survive BECAUSE Ross knows what to do. Sparano seems to be a surefire way to Suck for Luck without actually throwing games. Seems like a smart move to let him suck it up and put yourself in position to get the best QB prospect since Manning...

If the Dolphins lose to the Chargers, I think he will be relieved of his duties. However, I would not be shocked if he doesn't get fired. Four games is extremely early for a NFL head coach to be fired and after how Ross treated Sparano earlier this year, I could see him staying. We have to keep in mind though that changing coaches during the season, is change for the sake of change. No real benefit.

i'm sorry...i can't leave this alone...you're gonna relieve sparano of his duties but not fire him??? what??? and make him what...the oline coach...lmao...if you are gonna remove sparano from his hc duties you need to remove him from the environment period...you need that element out of the building...period

jeez...as for sparano staying at this point i don't care...mike nolans not gonna make enough difference to matter if he steps in...the losses will pile up either way...they just will a couple more if you keep sparano...and with us done already keep him all season...i need as much shot at a top 5 pick as possible...the more losses the better at this point...take off the aqua and orange sunglasses and realize this season is already over and a failure on every level...

its only gonna get worse...wait to the end of the season and fire the whole lot of them...ireland included if thats what it takes to get cowher...get rid of em all...purge the building of their stench and start anew...and realize with a couple more pieces and some new direction in the lockerroom this teams closer than people probably think...but we need the pieces ...we need to get rid of a lot of this oline for starters also especially if we are gonna try and run a spread o going forward...
