If tannehill is 3rd best Qb this year

If he's the 3rd best Qb on the team do you still put him 2nd string for reps and cut the loser of Gerard and Moore? Or do you keep him at 3rd string.

No way you cut them. You keep Tanny at #3. You need depth at QB. One or both of these guys will be gone at the end of this year anyway. BUT if there is a decent trade offer (3rd round pick or so) for the person that ends up #2, then ya Id move him.

I would keep him at #3 and let him just sit this year and soak in everything. Then bump him into the starting lineup for the 2013 opener(unless Moore or Garrard have a Pro Bowl type year and lead the team deep into the playoffs).

Honestly though, I expect Moore to win the job. I expect that Miami will then turn around and field offers for Garrard and trade him before the start of the regular season to a team hungry for a veteran QB. That could be a team that has their starter go down during the preseason or someone who wants to upgrade depth. I could see them getting a 5th or 6th round pick for him. I think Tannehill will be the #2 going into the season no matter how well he does in training camp and preseason.

This is going to sound weird coming from me but I am not worried about our QB situaiton this year at all. If Tony was still here i would totally be expecting the worse.

But for some reason i just get the feeling now that these guys know what they are doing.

If he comes in sometime this season.... Great
If we trade mat or David..... Great

I honestly trust them right now.

I second this. Philbin and Sherman have a good track record with their QBs so there is no reason to feel that a QB will be such a huge problem. I trust these two with the QB situation. Let's hope it isn't the homer in me blinding what can happen.

Yes. He needs the experience and one or both of Moore and Garrard will not be on the team next year. You can't justify having you're QB of the future running the scout team in that kind of a scenario.
