If tanny works out you think Matt Moore will stick around to be his backup? I like the idea of Matt Moore as a backup on the team so hopefully it works out that way. I don't see garrard being on the team being on the team next year
 
I would hope they keep Moore to be the backup but it would depend on what kind of aspirations he has as far as being a starter in this league. Either way when Tannehill eventually becomes starter he'll need a veteran backup behind him and then we can draft a develpmental guy as the 3rd string. Once Tannehill solidifies himself as starter we can start flipping these developmental guys for picks like Green Bay and Philly do.
 
Yeah what do you bet Coleman flashes in a few years for GB and they get a nice pick for him. We def need to get in that business...but only once Tanny proves he is a franchise guy
 
I wouldn't sleep on Pat Devlin becomming a solid backup either. He fits a westcoast style of offense quite well, he's accurate and has a quick release. It is really a good system for him . . . but yea, I wouldn't mind Matt Moore staying as a backup behind Tannehill either. Always good to have a solid veteran behind your young franchise QB.
 
actually I wouldn't be suprised if we go into the season like this Moore/Tanny/Devlin... Gerrad's been out for a year after back surgery, it's gonna be damn hard for him to get back to form, so it could be very possible he gets the axe. Just a thought of course, we might be able to put Devlin on the PS one more year and hope nobody swoops in on him.
 
Best senerio for us is Moore has a really good year and we get to tag and trade hime and grab a 2nd and 4th rounder for him and start Tanny next year. I dont think Moore stays after next year.
 
Don't you mean WHEN he works out?

We'd have to win a super bowl with Moore as the QB for anyone to bite on that. Tagging Moore would be an awful move and tie up a lot of money we need to re-sign our own players and possibly go after some free agents. I mean you're talking about roughly 40% of our projected cap space next year with roughly 20 players we'll need to sign.

I don't think MMoore will want to stick around, he'll want an opportunity to start somewhere, especially if Tanny simply beats him out. It will appear as tho he really had no shot at the job. I like what MMoore brings to the table, but he really doesn't fit the WCO QB mold. His accuracy is suspect and tends to be a split second late on decisions...?? JMHO...but I don't see MMoore sticking around...
 
My understanding is Matt Moore is a terrible practice QB. He turns it on in the games for sure and was very good at the end last year going 6 and 3. If Philbin throws out last year and just goes on training camp evaluation I would not be supprised if David or even Ryan win the starting spot. We shall see.
