Honestly I'm just curious. Its not out of the realm of possibility, then again I'm not saying it's very likely either.

We play the next two games at home, and to be honest, week in and week out the way our defense plays, we're going to have a decent shot at winning, not a great one, but a lot more decent than if we had a mediocre or even "kinda good" defense.

Without the Lamont Thompson INT for a TD, the Tennessee game becomes a little closer, and without the Brian Simmons INT for a TD, you might even say we would have won the Cincy game. Thats how close this defense has been keeping us...and probably will continue to keep us, until they find that the situation is unworkable...and I don't think that time is yet.

If we stop throwing picks that are returned for touchdowns, we may win a few games...specifically I see potential to win the next two games...and I'm just wondering, if we did, would everyone still be on the oh-god-the-season's-already-over kick. Maybe so. Or maybe everyone will be entirely quick to point out that we're the new Patriots or the new Eagles, who lost a few at the beginning of the year only to end up really strong and contending for and/or winning titles.

of course we'd be optimistic... but then again, if we win this week I expect all the homers to come out in full force... predicting 11-5 ... i say we win the next two, end up 9-7... im prayin thats good enuf for a wild card

It depends on how we win. If Tosh actually make the oline good enough to allow AJ and Gorden to play football, I'd be more confident that we are moving int he right direction. I also understand that it takes time for all of the new guys to play as a team. I just dont know if the staff has what it takes to get the most out of the guys. Reading the new UM book, I see more and more how a head coach and staff influences the play of the players, and how important respect is.

If we win the Next 2, we would be 2 and 2 with, but ahead of the Jets because we would have beat them, providing they lose a game after we beat them. Which would more then likely put us in 2nd in the division, and make things a little clearer. We had our 2 losses, now we have got to on a streak. We have been very close, and to be honest, our D has been one of the best if not the best in the league.

no we wudnt be ahead of the jets... the jets have a bye this week...we wud be 2-2, the jets 2-1

It depends on how we win, if it's because the defense scores more than the offense and the O-line looks as bad then yes.

If by some miracle the O-line plays well then i'll hold judgement until they do it consistantly.

well dont expect a 180 turnaround on the o... we will probably win because of our D this sunday... and hopefully this will give confidence that can spread throughout the team (especially the O)

No, I said they would have to lose a game, but we would hold the tie breaker. So all they would have to do is lose 1 game, us win, and we would be ahead of them like that.

ahahha... thats obvious... but it doesn't make sense to post that at this point... we don't even have a win, and plus we face the pats after the jets i believe... one step at a time...

I think we're done this year if we go 0-4 to start off the season. 3 home losses wouldnt be good enough for anyone. 1-3 we might have a shot, 2-2 we're right back in it. If we went 2-2, I see us losing at NE and winning at Buff, thus making us 3-3. Anything goes after that!

Not once this whole year have I been a pessimist. Even after those 2 losses, i still think our seaosn is salvagable...but it will b a whole lot of work.

2 wins would just further boost my confidence.

Well said. I don't consider myself a pessimist. I'm a realist. And reality says that as long as Dave Wannschmuck and his band of merry morons are in charge of this team, we're gonna suck. It's gotten worse and worse every year under Wannschmuck and that isn't going to change.
