Even if there is some bylaw that says the Dolphins had to share this sort of information with the Bears how would the Bears or the league even go about showing that the Dolphins knew about it before the trade occurred? Have fun trying to prove that.
 
At least the trade makes some sense now. If it is true he punched this 24 year old in the face, he could get a year suspension I believe.

I've been making excuses for this guy for so long. He was involved in a shooting wherein his friend was killed. He "slipped and fell" on a McDonald's bag. Don't forget about the taxi fare he tried to bail out on when he was too drunk to understand the cab driver's thick accent. And that was pretty recent, if memory serves. Definitely a love/hate feeling for him as a Phin. Now, it's just a feeling of hatred. Good riddance.

Wondering how Ireland will be perceived publicly if he traded BM w/ perhaps withholding knowledge of the incident.

Which leads me to also believe the Bears where well aware of the incident hence the lower picks we got.

Omar says both the Phins and Bears were aware of this incident before the trade. Last year, when he had his incident at home with the stabbing or whatever it was, I said we should have traded him them, perhaps we get our 2-2's back or might have even got a low 1 for him. Now we have what we have. Bottom line, if Philbin wanted him gone, he should go.
 
As stated in the OP, if Ireland got two thirds for Marshall, he should be commended.
 
Really wonder what the suspension could be? Big Ben got suspended just for being accused of something and was later found innocent.
 
There is a long list of Marshall incidents. I think Philbin didn't want his antics, and Ireland & Co. were tired of sitting on pin needles everyday wondering if today was going to be the day that Marshall did something stupid to get suspended or killed. That may sound overly dramatic, but drama and bad things seem to follow this guy. Yes Ireland traded for him, he tried, which is his job. He also acknowledged it was a mistake, and got out of it — while freeing up cap space and getting something in return. He dropped too many passes, had to much to say, had too many dumb penalties. He has #1 talent, but his other actions take away from his as a player. Philbin said in his opening press conference, to paraphrase — we want men with high moral character — the beast did not fit that.
 
Marshall's the kind of guy who would get tossed in jail the night before the Super Bowl.
