this is pretty much a question for the people on here that study the draft.

say the packers do sign arrington. they are projected to pick aj hawk in a lot of the mock drafts im looking at would this mean a slide on linebackers maybe having like greenway fall to us would this be possible or is it just wishfull thinking on my part

or it could spark a trade, Green Bay has alot of needs

Yeah like a QB, did Farve ever make a decision yet?

Nope not yet i dont think farve is bad at qb sh@t i would take him to be our back any day.

cant AJ Hawk and LaVar play opposite ends??

Hawk---Barnett---Arrington
thats a sick LB core

I'd much rather have Lawson. Our defensive scheme is suited for tweeners like him.

There is a lot of hype about Lawson, but draft "experts" say he is a late 1st. At #16 that is a little too early, unless we trade down. Greenway before the combine was right after AJ hawk on most lists. I think we can benefit from his poor combine.

Yeah I would too, but of every QB in the league, that would be the last to be a backup, ending his career as a backup.

GB not picking Hawk at #5 will just basicly mean a top 10 talent will be swapped with some other team's top 10 pick. Only way a LB slide would happen is if Hawk were to fall out of the top 10...don't see that happening.

Greenway should be there at #16....he is a late first round projection...I would not feel we would have to take a LB if we don't get Lavar as there are lot of quality LB's in the draft. I would take Santonio Holmes WR, Ohio State, at #16 if he is still on the board.

From a general standpoint, yes he is a reach. But whether we stay at 16 or trade down, he is not in our standpoint. Let me quote boomer from another forum.

Probably Lawson. Why? Well, he's ridiculously athletic. He comes out as the number 1 rated LB when you crunch the numbers. He has played 2 years as the Sam. He can rush the passer with his hand on the ground. He can blow past athletic left tackles. At 242, he can bullrush tackles. He moved Marcus McNeil back into the passer at the Senior Bowl practices. He gets decent depth on his drops and he can work down the line against the run.

Nick Saban loves Jason Taylor. Loves him. Loves him on the field and off it. Lawson is a spitting image of a young Taylor. Saban has said that if he'd have drafted JT, he would have made him a Hall of Fame OLB/DE. Just imagine looking at the draft board and seeing a young Taylor out there that you can mold, that you can use all over the field, with the 4.41 speed, like a Merriman or a Ware, a kick block demon (7 at NC State).

And remember, he's going to be much more highly rated in our system and the Jets and New England's and Clevelands and Pitts than in Denvers or Chicago's, etc. The draft board gets stacked to fulfil YOUR needs. Not the needs of all the other teams. That's why Lawson and Kamerion Wimbley rate so highly with us, although Wimbley I think is going to Cleveland at 12.

yeah hawk would fall like a rock from number 5 then.. all the way to number 6 where SF lost peterson and would replace him with hawk

everyone forget about Aaron Rodgers???

GB probably wishes they did on last years draft day if Cutler's at #5. Cutlers better than Rogers as Favre's "replacement".
