I wish your parents would take away your computer.

Saban will know before the draft if Ricky is coming back, we may not but he will! If he is coming back he wont take a RB at 2.

If that is the case, I believe they will share the carries. I doubt that Saban will spend a high pick on a RB if Ricky returns. Instead, I think he'll rely on Gordon, Ricky and Minor.

that would suck if Ricky said BEFORE the draft that he is coming back...so then Saban doesnt choose an RB in the draft. Then in July, Ricky says "oh nevermind, im not coming back". Poor Saban, then he'll be all frustrated without having a runningback.

He can't come back before the draft. The NFL rules on retirement don;t allow it. He has to wait til July. Otherwise, he's suspended for a year.

You are correct:up:

Nah, I said the same thing but I guess I was told that Saban would never build his #2 around Ricky...:shakeno:

How could I be so dumb to think that we don't need two great runningbacks when we could get someone else at a different position to help out in other areas, thus making us a better team...:smackhead

To all those who were flaming marcos: WTF? That's a perfectly legitimate question.

Personally, I don't think Williams' status changes anything. One, he's obviously a head case who could come and go at any time. Two, is he really in football shape? Three, what kind of longevity does he have, even if he does stick to football? In an absolute best-case scenario, he comes back, and we get two good years out of him. I'd be shocked if we got anything more.
More than likely, he would be teamed with Ronnie Brown (the RB who best complements Williams' skills), and each of them would get 200+ carries as we'd try to have a running attack similar to the Falcons RBs.
I would note that I think a return of Williams makes drafting Ced Benson a little less likely. If other things are equal, why draft the RB who does the exact same thing as Williams?

That's precisely why Williams is unlikely to change our thinking.
